travismills (37), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Aug 21, 2004 An average beer, pretty good in taste, better then half the watered down American non sense. Nice creamy head, goes down smooth, good overall. Rockinout (945), Kent, Ohio, USA Aug 20, 2004 Yellow color, skunky aroma, white head. Has a slight peppery hop presence that gets overshadowed by the skunk, musty finish. Blah. (this bottle was taken out of a cardboard six pack holder that lets no light in). TheBeerCollector (548), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Aug 3, 2004 Quite bland and thin. "Remarkably smooth" like flavored water. If you mixed this with...say...Maudite, then you might get a decent flavor...oh wait...that’s probably already being done ;-) Belly Full O Beer (57), Nova Scotia, Canada Jul 30, 2004 Not bad. I find that it sit a little heavy on my tounge. I never liked the smell of this beer, somewhat shunky. Wouldn’t turn one down, but not a beer that I would actively seek out. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 24, 2004 12 oz bottle. Very very clear, very light amber. Lightly skunky, lightly grassy, somewhat stale aroma. "Creamy"? Well, it’s smooth I guess, but mostly due to the lack of distractions like "flavor", "malt", and "hops". This is like drinking instant milk with the milk flavor removed, there’s just nothing there but a vague thicker-than-water feelling. Very light sweetness. Probably the worst of Sleeman’s line that I’ve had. jb (1024), Rochester, New York, USA Jul 11, 2004 Updated: Nov 2, 2004I was quite pleased with this gift from Ron. Of course I had this after 3 sets of tennis on a hot sunny day, but hey, it worked ideally in that application. Smooth, with a pleasant sweet finish. Nice smell of hops and color. An enjoyable summer ale. PS, I’m not sure what cream ale is supposed to be stylistically. Ron (1002), Rochester, New York, USA Jul 8, 2004 One fresh bottle that was not skunky. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel with a crisp ending. Typical cream ale. I’ll have to do a taste comparison with our local Genny cream ale. wildchefbill (244), Sarasota, Florida, USA Jun 24, 2004 Pours gold with a Small white head. Aroma is mild with a little hop to cover the slight corn scent. Flavor is mild, maybe a little weak (they call it smooth). A little malt, a little corn and OK hops. Mouthfeel is light and a little watery (they call it easy drinking and refreshing) While drinkable, it is not a great beer. Please, Sleeman, don’t do this to Unibroue.
