Commercial Description:
Remarkably smooth for a full-flavoured beer. Our founder's intention was to combine the refreshing taste of a German lager with the distinctive taste of an English Ale without blending the two.

Nose has butter, vanilla and malt...quite un-expected! Sweet malt and light hops and distinct wheat. A distinct "cream" feel on the palate, more than most, well done. A touch too carbonated. Basic stuff all-around but quite drinkable!

Drinkable, but there’s something wrong with the taste for me, I just found it artificial. I’ve avoided it since.

Bouteille 341ml.

Bottle - pours a light yellow. Mild hops and grain in flavour. Quite bland, but better than the average macro beer.

Good stuff to pick up at the liquor store on your way to the summer cabin, very drinkable, kind of a decent flavour, but easily forgettable. A cut above the low-end brews however, and a good choice when you need to polish off a case quickly.

Light hop aroma. Light gold color with a decent, white, firm head. Very clean, fresh, yeast profile and a refreshing spritzy carbonation. Light to medium body without the astringent complaint I’ve read of elsewhere, nor was the flavor of corn dominant. This was a thirst-quenching summer beer that we drank well-iced and that accompanied well, grilled food (which we had much of, vacationing by a lake). The distinctive clear bottle encourages the light-struck skunkiness several reviewers describe (I suspect), though our 12-pack was quite fresh (and you can’t miss it when a beer turns skunky). Sleeman’s should rethink the bottle since they can’t control storage and transport. I’d take this over any of the large American brewery offerings.
