A refreshingly smooth, full-bodied lager, with a subtle touch of all natural honey which creates a slightly sweet finish.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2015 Crystal clear amber.light brown body with a huge foamy off-white head which dissipated very quickly. Some cereal malt aroma, caramel and some brown sugar qualities. Quite crisp, no hop presence, sweetness on the finish is almost cloying. Some alcohol is present which is crazy compared to the ABV.

This was poured into a stemmed pilsener. The appearance was a transparent orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that quickly dissipated and left barely any lacing. The smell had a rich caramel sweet maltiness about it. The taste was moderately sweet with a light soapy flavoring in it. The aftertaste had the soapy arrangement to it with a watery finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionable quality about it. The carbonation is super light. Overall, I say this was an okay Vienna lager. I’d rather have a regular Sam Adams first.

Bottle. Clear dark brown with no head. Toasted bread, honey and a slight vegetal note. Crisp mouthfeel. Ok.

500ml can. Slightly hazy copper-brown body. Steady, foamy white/off-white head. Slow rising carbonation bubbles. Kind of one-dimensional dull sweet aroma, not so impressive. Bland medium dark brown malt, the honey smooths it out even more. Macro lager tones. Pretty boring, but drinkable, honey brown ale.

Bottle. Light amber pour, thin to non-existent white head. Sweet grainy aroma and taste, although I get some off metallic flavors a fair number of times with this one.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s, London. It pours a clean amber color with a medium white head. Aroma is sweet and grainy, with notes of boiled corn, honey, toffee, bread dough. Taste is mostly sweet with notes of toffee, marmalade, bread, biscuit, honey. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, not bad but I’m not a big fan of sweet beers

(1302-191014)

1/3 pint, keg at Mother Kelly’s Bottle & Tap Room, Bethnal Green. A tiny layer at the top of a clear amber coloured body. Fragile lacing. Moderate smell of pale and brown malts. Taste of mild honeyed caramel and nuts followed by herbal hops to the finish. Soft carbonated. Quite nice as a lager beer (London 26.09.2014).
