Slacks (355), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Aug 14, 2006 355ml Bottle: Well, the brightest compliment I can pay this one is I didn’t hate it as much as previous tastes of Sleeman products. Aroma actually presents a little bit of honey, alongside roasted nuts, and caramel. Kinda nice, surprisingly. The pour never materialized, just fell in the glass with a light ridge of head. Taste isn’t offensive, even has a few subtle sweet nuances I could appreciate. Would never be a regular for me, but I didn’t hate it.
Kevman (26), Windsor, Ontario, Canada Aug 15, 2008 Can, LCBO Windsor Ontario. Poured a golden/brown with a very strong offwhite head. Smelled of hops and malt. Nice taste, went back really smooth, one of my new favourites! mabel (1583), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 14, 2008 [1571-20080803] 473mL can. Beery muted grains aroma. Clear, dark brown red body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Grainy muted grains flavour. Medium body. Average. faroeviking (4124), Faroese Beer Republic union of, Denmark Aug 13, 2008 Botella. Clear thin amber colour with a medium light brown fairly lasting creamish head. Good lacing. Aroma is mild with toasted malt, some honey and caramel. Flavour of toasted malt with toasty caramel, mild honey and a light bitterness. BeerEssential (90), Massachusetts, USA Aug 5, 2008 Thanks to the clear bottle, the colour is obvious even before pouring...a coppery amber tone. Maintains a decent white fluffy head which provides nice lacing. Hoppy aroma and taste, but a clean finish. Not a ton of honey present, but in terms of lagers (which I generally don’t drink) this is a good as they probably get. Very drinkable and a popular beer among my beer drinking friends. Linus_Stick (1510), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 19, 2008 A decent American dark. Not the most flavorful but perfect on a hot summer day when the taste buds want to be refreshed, yet want something darker and more malty than the usual summer beer. Aroma was a bit weak. Could pick up some caramel and sweet toffee but faint. Pour was a nice clear dark amber with a one finger off white head. Taste was not too heavy and crisp and refreshing. Strong carbonation with not much flavor coming through, but a nice roasted malt and caramel aftertaste. Not bad.
