Originally rated July 2006. This one is one of my favorite Sleeman brews from the beginning, but is rumoured to be discontinued (or at least is hard to find now... no longer available at The Beer Store). But I was surprised to get one in their new mixed 12-pack (well, you get 3 of them). Pours a clean amber colour with lots of carbonation. The white head is creamy, has decent retention and leaves great amount of lace all around the glass. The nose is mild with some metallic water at first, but then goes into a nicer malt grain and some light fruit and floral aromas. Kind of a grainy mouthfeel too. Refreshing taste of light sweet malt with some decent hop in the finish and a clean light fruit aftertaste. One of Sleeman’s better offerings, with their Fine Porter.

Bouteille 341 ml. 5%. Couleur jaune paille. Bonne bière de soif avec notes maltée et arrière goûir assez sec. Bue il y a quelques années.

Wow i knew it wasa while since i drank it but damn its retired now??? nice beer again one of my former fav’s. odd nose decent malts good head, some bitterness

Favourite Sleeman product of the regular offering. Has a nice bit of hoppy character and amber colour.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2007 Golden/Orangish appearance with a nice frothy head. A tasty steam but, sadly, it is no longer being brewed. A Sleeman’s insider told me that it was not catering to the ’mainstream taste’ and has been replaced by Sleeman Original Draft. It’s too bad because this beer was packed with a variety of lovely flavours. Creemore Springs or Headstrong Lager are the closest replacements I have found so far. Goodbye to a great beer :(

Bottle- A tough one to find here in London, but I am dilligent- Pours sparkling gold with a frothy white top.Fairly malty aroma, with not much else to talk about. Maybe some fruity aromas too. Pretty void of aromas other than sugary malt.Flavours are sweet watery malt, with fruity and bready flavours in the finish. Ok. Full steam ahead!

Compares nothing to Anchor, but it ain’t bad. Liked it better then other sleeman offerings

Horrible aroma. Horrible taste. Horrible aftertaste. So in otherwords, the entire expereince was terrible. Maybe I am just not a Steam fan, because I coudl barely stomach Steam Whistle either.
