COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This malty and flavorful beer is deep copper red in color and has a remarkably smooth taste. Brown sugar augments the grain bill to add a sweet mouth-feel that blends exquisitely with ample Cascade hops. Enjoy! (OG 1.074, IBU’s 28-30, Alc 6.5% a/v)

2008-09-06. Deep ruby tinged brown body with a small tan head. (3+) Flavour has a good sweet malt base with earth character and touches of sugar, alcohol. Surprisingly amount of bitterness is okay, but not what I look for in a scotch ale. (6+) Mild malt aroma has an earth character that foreshadows the same in the flavour. (6+) Average palate is adequate but thin for my preference. On tap at the brewpub.

Clear copper color with ivory sheen. Toasted caramel, earthy, tea leaf aromas. medium body, average carbonation. Toasted, spicy caramel flavors with some earthy vegetal kelp---decent

On draft at the brewpub 7/6/05: Brown beer. Smooth malt with an undertone of sweet sugar and sharp finish. Drinkable, but not a "scottish" to be sure.

[1668-20080906] Tap. Sweet honeyed malt aroma has a bit of caramel. Clear, dark brown red body with a quick bubbly light tan head. Caramel malt and roasted sweet leaves flavour. Medium-full body. A little rough but so was the man, I hear.

Had on tap at the Resurection Roadhouse in Seward, Alaska. Dark amber appearance, with frothy, off white bubby head. Toasty, nutty aroma - very sweet. Flavor has some caramelly sweet notes with some candied sugar notes in the back end. Very malty, like a Scottsih Ale should be. Alcohol hidden well. A decent Scottish Ale for a brewpub. Smoooth mouthfeel. Look forward to visiting them later this week in Anchorae,

Reddish Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice balance light earth like qualities. Good balanced flavors with a light extra bittering from the hops. Sweet in taste with a dry finish.

Draft: Poured a burnt orange brown with a white to off white head. Aroma is sweet malts. Taste is toffee, caramel malt, and nice hoppy blend that feels sweet but balanced.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2011 Draft at Humpy’s in ANC. Deep, dark with a small film of bubbles that try. Nose is cocoa and orangey-caramel. Flavor is similar with maybe a hint of earthy smoke, but I may have just been wishing, Medium body is watery, drinkable and well-balanced.

Draft at brewery: Another one from Sleeping Lady that I thought was too sweet. Loaded with elements of caramel, honey, sweet peat and cereal. Hops were earthy, restrained and they only offered a mild amount of grass-like bitterness.
