3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
One of their better ones, though not very drinkable. This is, yes, an IPA and they insist and market it as such. Golden yellow and very lacey. Very malted down, the bitterness did not come through huge, so rather off balance.

dark orange brown with a creamy white head.
big time sweet malty nose with a bunch of punchy citrus hops and spice in the background.
the palate and flavor are both malt heavy and sweet yet there are a ton of hops in here... lots of caramel, oranges and malt with a touch of sweet pine.
thick.. way too thick to be an ipa... oh, wait. itís 10%. never mind. 6/3/6/3/14/3.2

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled @ AZ Strong Beer Fest. Dark honey pour with a small eggshell head. Aroma and flavor are incredibly sweet for the style but still enjoyable. More caramel malt than hop bomb, somewhat similar to candied oranges. 10% ABV is invisible.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rich golden pour. Sweet hoppy aroma. Is this an IPA or a barleywine? Lots of malt and some hops...sweet flavor with hops showing well...but still tastes more like an American barleywine to me.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery. Deep golden orange pour with a nice creamy head. Aroma is big and malty with a nice dose of citrus and grapefruit peel hops. Nice flavor as well, nice and malty with a slightly bitter hoppy finish. I suspect this isnít a super-fresh batch, but it is still pretty tasty.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I had the pleasure of taking out a 5gallon keg over the course of a couple days over the holidays. Pours a deep orange to almost brown with a nice white head. Aroma is aromatic citrusy piney hops and a good dose of malt to back it up. Flavor is citrusy piny bitter and otherwise lovely hops, and a good dose of caramel and malt to back it up. At 60 IBUís itís not a super hop bomb, but at this point it is so fresh itís still very hoppy. The 10% alcohol is well hidden, and overall this is a well executed huge IPA. Words of the wise.. be careful, or itíll sneak up on you, your wife will be upset with you for what an ass you made of yourself at that holiday party, force you to sleep outside, youíll wake up naked in somebody elses back yard and your friends will take photos and post them onto facebook. Next thing you know youíre frantically untagging said photos before your mother sees them.
