2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft sample @ Sleepy Dog. Pours a clear amber color with an avg. size whitish head. The aroma is sweet malt, citrus, slightly buttery. The flavor is sweet malt, citrus, fruity, with hints of butter. I like my IPA’s to pop with more hops than this provides.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Tap @ Sleepy Dog. Pours a clear, golden appearance with a cream colored head. Herbal, light garbage, bland grassy aroma. Very bitter, bland hoppy flavor with a bit of fruits in the flavor. Unbalanced and not very good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft @ Sleepy Dog. Amber orange with an off white head. Aroma of citrus, fruity yeast esters, butterscotch and pine. Flavor is sweet butterscotch and caramel with a medium hop bitterness and light alcohol head. Medium body with average carbonation. I get some diacetyl in this one and it throws off the beer, could be a great beer with a cleaner fermentation.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a crimson amber tone, studding an off-white head which leaves bulbous lace marks across the rim. Smells interestingly of acorns, expired caramel candy bar, unbaked bread dough, freezer-burnt mint sprigs and autumnal leaves. Tastes mostly of bitter hops withheld by an almost unappealing malt that honestly resembles Karo syrup and mashed millet in flavor; needless to say, I enjoyed this beer but didn’t find there was much balance as promised on their menu.

Best of the brewery. It is what you want in an IPA. Bold flavor and a beautiful color. Smells as good as it looks ans tastes.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled on tap at Sleepy Dog; March 2011
The beer arrives with a clear, copper color and is topped by a long lingering, pale tan colored head. There is a tinny, but bright citrus and hop fruit character to the nose; I get a sort of tropical fruit character and some lychee noticeable. There is again something like dishwater aromatics in the nose and there is also a touch of cracker like malt and a hint of crystal malt notes here as well.
This has a bright, hoppy, citrus character as well as some herbal bitterness to it that reminds me of hemp and pine. Sweet notes are accentuated by the fruity hop character. This is light bodied and quaffable. There is some sort of off character here; perhaps a hint of moldy dish-water and a sort of metallic note. This is hoppy enough to not be bad, but it is certainly lackluster. If it was cleaner it would be a nicely light and quaffable and I like that I has some hop character to it.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2013 Orange/gold pour with white head and lace. Resiny hops, with bread, and caramel malt. Sweet caramel malt and resiny bitter. A beer that on second try doesn’t seem to be well balanced. Medium bodied but fizzy.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
enjoyed during 2011 RBWG on tap pours a dirty blond with a medium off white head. Aroma is strong floral and citrus hops. Flavor is thin toast and lots of metallic astringent notes that destract from anything else going on. Does not want.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Sleepy Dog. My favorite beer on the sampler "bone". Pours clear amber, thin off-white head, very nice lacing. Nose is grapefruit and sweet mandarin orange; rather juicy nose with fresh pine bough aromas as well. Flavours of spice, honey, lightly astringent and mildly soapy towards the finish. I know I heard some others griping about this IPA, but I really enjoyed it!
