Created with pale, malted barley, European hops, and special aromatic hops and a subtle touch of blueberry in the finish. The best selling blueberry ale in America

Iím a sucker for a good fruit beer and I think blueberry blends particularly well. Recommended.

Bottle. Pours cloudy, amber and slightly blue, (could it be?) with a large off-white head that lasted well. Aroma is heavily blueberries, with caramel malts and some floral hops. Flavor is highly fruity, sweet malts and a tart finish. Medium body and nicely carbonated. A little unbalanced overall but not bad.

Light golden pour with a white head. Really strong blueberry aroma, somewhat fake and sugary, but good. A hint of butter and pancake batter, too. Some syrup, perhaps. The flavor has a strong blueberry syrup note to it. Some pale malt, bread, and dough flavors. A bit of butter and sweet sugar. Pretty decent, actually.

Poured a hazy yellow/gold with a thin white head. Aroma chock full of sweet blueberries. Blueberry dominated the flavor, with a light malt and faint hop aftertaste. Moderately carbonated (fizzy on the tongue) and moderate mouthfeel. Less blueberry and more of other flavors would make this more appealing to me.

Bottle: Amber color, average head. Nose of light malt and some faint dry blueberry notes, almost like boysenberry. The flavor is like those little dehidrated blueberries in the instant pancake mixes. Thin, dry, so-so. I could use a bit more intensity (dry berrying?) and body. Fun though.

Iíve been on a fruit beer kick lately so I picked this up. If it didnít say blueberry in the name, I would have thought this was an okay amber. Zero blueberry in aroma or flavor for me, but it was still a smooth, drinkable beer. Lots of malt, semi sweet.

Had at the new Santa Barbara Downtown brewing co.,which took over Slo brewing. This beer had an unnoticeable aroma.Color typical amber beer color. The taste was quite surprising at first. It had a subtle blueberry taste, which didnít overpower the beer.I think what ruined this beer for me is they used a too heavy of a bodied beer. The beer taste was too strong for the blueberry taste.I think a good pale ale would be a better match for this blueberry beer. Not bad though, just could have been much better.Nice concept. Will probably drink again.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2003 Pours to a bright golden color, well carbonated with moderate head formation. Thereís a sweet flowery aroma with a touch of candy and blueberry in moderation. The palate is very light for an ale with blueberry flavors appearing immediately but not overwhelmingly. The blue flavor runs throughout, bringing with it a touch of prickly spice and just fading towards the finish, while thereís a touch of sugary sweetness in the middle and balancing crisp dryness in the finish. This is a pretty straightforward blonde ale but the blueberry flavor works really well.

Dark straw colored, with medium head. Slight hops and blueberry aroma. Tastes a little like blueberries. Slightly hoppy, acidic, and thin at the end. Not bad.
