burpfrank (289), carpinteria, California, USA May 27, 2007 Had at the new Santa Barbara Downtown brewing co.,which took over Slo brewing. This beer had an unnoticeable aroma.Color typical amber beer color. The taste was quite surprising at first. It had a subtle blueberry taste, which didn’t overpower the beer.I think what ruined this beer for me is they used a too heavy of a bodied beer. The beer taste was too strong for the blueberry taste.I think a good pale ale would be a better match for this blueberry beer. Not bad though, just could have been much better.Nice concept. Will probably drink again.
bulletrain76 (537), Santa Cruz, California, USA May 25, 2008 Draught at the Santa Barbara location; listed as only 3.3%abv. Dark gold-amber color with a slight haze. Blast of blueberry in the aroma with some wet straw and grain. Flavors of husky grains and very subtle blueberry. Pretty sweet and full flavored for the strength, and I like that the blueberry is almost undetectable in the flavor, but there is something odd about how prevalent it is in the aroma. phishpond417 (1409), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA May 20, 2008 One of my favorite brews to have on draught. Pours a lovely clear amber colour, medium sized white head, and blueberry, floral and wheat aromas and nuances bursting out of the glass Bhef25 (34), USA Apr 28, 2008 Tap @ the YardHouse. Dark with little head... crisp taste of beer followed by a refreshing aftertaste of blueberries. Great blueberry aroma but does not over power the overall smell and taste of the brew. Aroma – Great Blueberry aroma in this awesome fruit beer.
Appearance – Deep yellow in color, light head and clear.
Flavor – This had a great light blueberry flavor that added to this beer. It was enough for you to enjoy the beer and the flavor. The blueberry was near perfect in my opinion.
Palate – Had a easy drink feel and a great finish with a slight lingering blueberry flavor.
Overall – One of the best fruit beers I have ever had and I like fruit beers. This was good subtle and not over powering in huge fruit flavor. A great beer. Good Job SLO Brewing.
