Slightly hazy and golden with a thick white head, good lacing. Bread and fruit aromas, pear, banana, a little bit of clove. Tastes slightly bready with some pear and grape sweetness from esters and a fruity, slightly spicy hop profile. Medium bodied with high carbonation. I’m confused by the low overal score of this beer. It’s a solid Belgian Pale with a weird label.

500ml bottle pours a hazy golden color with a 2 finger white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light fruity with a light citrus note. Taste is light fruity sweet with a citrusy bitter finish. Light to medium body with lots of carbonation providing a nice tingle on the tongue. A nicely done Belgian strong ale, but there are better ones to be had.

Bottle. Golden color, white foam. Aroma is nothing special. Reminds me of a pale lager. Quite smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is a bit watery, "standard" beer and does not last long. Compared to Sloeber, there certainly are more worse beers out there than better ones, but this is not a beer I will have again.

mile (2155) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 16, 2012
Bottle. Golden, hazy, average to large and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty - wheaty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and some fruitiness, light spiciness (coriander, light pepper), faint hoppyness. Body is medium, malty - some wheat and sweetish flavor, some caramel and light fruitiness. Finish is average, malty - some wheat and lightly sweetish, light caramel and light fruitiness, light spiciness and light hoppyness, light alcohol. Lightly sweetish strong ale - light alcohol/spiciness make finish bit drier. Anyway, quite one-dimensional.

purs very very light ( half a bottle 33 cl cause i used a small glass, maybe less clear when poured fully ) in a yelowish-see-trough kinda colour. foam is fading quite fast, yet not extremely. smell reminds me of a sweetness you can also find in la chouffe. taste definetly has that, yet its totaly not a la chouffe..it has some kinde of mini-aftertaste that kinda reminds me of some other beer... i think karmeliet ( not sure on this one) carbonation is again, too much for my taste, but not extreme at all... overall a nice beer if you like chouffe and karmeliet, thats not super intresting, yet not pushing the boundries too far so you dont like it... i think everybody could drink it, but it wouldnt be anybodys favourite...

A-- Poured a clear, golden straw color. Lots of visible carbonation. Poured a big, cloud white head that slowly faded to under a finger in height. Lots and lots of sticky, thick lacing. Excellent head retention. S-- Citrus, sour grape tart and a bit of a bread smell. Smells are clean and a bit on the faint side. T-- Spices, bread and a bit of a soda pop grape taste. Different but not bad. Not very bold but good. M-- High carbonation, a little bit of bitterness from the spices but the grape taste is what sets this out. Feels and tastes a lot like a grape soda but soft. Finishes clean and pretty crisp. O-- Solid, workable Belgian style beer
