3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ska (195) - ITALY - JUL 19, 2012
33cl bottle, hazy golden color, huge lasting head, citrus and yeast aroma, caramel and metallic notes, sweet flavor, medium body, finish with yeast and hops aftertaste, basically Duvel like.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 vipinvelp (1224) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - JUN 28, 2012
Hazy yellow with very fluffy white foam head. Head is lasting and lacing to glass. Arome small, barley. Taste is surpisingly flat, some yeast, some caramel, not bitter. Bit dissapointed. (Velp 201206)
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mansquito (2569) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JUN 15, 2012
Total Wine, Fairfax 330ml: Pours an orange colour with a small head for a Belgian. Aroma is wildflower honey, fruitiness, and another note that is very particular to some Belgian ales. Taste is somewhat sweet, owing to the intense honey overtones. Has an off-note or two. Still, it is really smooth and pretty nice to drink. Alcohol covered up, but it kind of has like a hard liquor taste in a way.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bdunhill (197) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JUN 1, 2012
This Belgian Ale has a sweet vanilla aroma with a light yellow color and a big frothy head. The taste is really sweet with a short aftertaste.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 borisz (358) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 27, 2012
Bottle at tasting. Hazy light yellow color, creamy white heas. Aroma is faint, malty and spicy. Flavor is slightly metallic, spicy, somewhat sweet, slightly bitter in the finish. Nice balance. Subtle yet nice. Creamy texture and above average carbonation.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Chudwick (1139) - Cincyucky, Kentucky, USA - MAY 19, 2012
11.2oz bottle - pours hazy orange with quickly diminishing white head. Nose is nutty with basement aromas. Flavor adds caramel and leaves. Sweet! sticky mouthfeel with a slight burning sensation. A flavor that just won’t quit. A night cap reading beer if I’ve ever had one; too bad it’s only 7:34 PM.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Arve_Christian (2156) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 15, 2012
Backlog december 2011
Bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika
Golden color , ok foam
Medium body & complexity
Love Belgian beer, but this one was truly a disappointment (but still better then industrial pale lagers)
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 BlackHaddock (2440) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 13, 2012
Drank in the very pleasant surroundings of ’The Tr@cks and Travellers Bar’ Knokke-Heist in Belgium.
This is a poor mans Duvel, even down to the glass. Everything is Duvel like, the look, aroma and aftertaste even. But all a little paler and weaker in every aspect. Nothing wrong with it, but I’d rather have the real thing, wouldn’t you?
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 RoodMormel (48) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2012
Pours a dark brown color, aroma is nothing special, first few sips had a metal flavour to them with a sweet taste on the background which later comes to the foreground. The flavor dissipates fast though.
