The label is one of the weirdest I’ve come across. A beer bottle named Sloeber showing me the name on my beer bottle which is also Sloeber. Maybe it was a good concept but the final result looks quite amateur-ish if you ask me. So what do we have here? A belgian strong pale ale, that pours a white thin head of one finger, in my Chimay chalice. Colour is, well, pale golden. I can witness a thin fountain of bubbles rising from the center of my glass to the top. Aroma is light and pleasant, fruity, sure, but I can’t put my nose into it exactly. One time I think I smell bananas, the next I smell plums. Whatever it is, is very faint though. Taste is fruity, with some plums and other dark fruits, but there is unfortunately a slight metallic aftertaste. Full and thick on the bodybody, with just the right amount of carbonation. Overall, a very good sample of the kind.

Sloeber … oooh what a name... Bref on s’amuse bien sûr...

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk. Hazy light golden with a big white head. Fruity aroma and taste, reminding me of a gentle Duvel. Nice round aftertaste. Lively carbonation.

Fairly certain I got a bad bottle. Beer was totally flat with an aroma of rancid butter and artificial vanilla flavoring. Two sips in and my palate was totally wrecked for the night. Rancid, cabbagey, and utterly unapealling. I might give it another go if I could find it on tap, but that bottle was terrible.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours clear golden with a great white head leaving great lace. Aroma is malty sweet fruity a bit spicy yeasty apricots peaches. Flavor is crispy malty sweet fruity modestly bitter a bit pungent yet towards the dry finshe the bitterness gets more intense. Finishes bitter fruity.

Slightly hazy and golden with a thick white head, good lacing. Bread and fruit aromas, pear, banana, a little bit of clove. Tastes slightly bready with some pear and grape sweetness from esters and a fruity, slightly spicy hop profile. Medium bodied with high carbonation. I’m confused by the low overal score of this beer. It’s a solid Belgian Pale with a weird label.

500ml bottle pours a hazy golden color with a 2 finger white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light fruity with a light citrus note. Taste is light fruity sweet with a citrusy bitter finish. Light to medium body with lots of carbonation providing a nice tingle on the tongue. A nicely done Belgian strong ale, but there are better ones to be had.

Bottle. Golden color, white foam. Aroma is nothing special. Reminds me of a pale lager. Quite smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is a bit watery, "standard" beer and does not last long. Compared to Sloeber, there certainly are more worse beers out there than better ones, but this is not a beer I will have again.

Bottle. Golden, hazy, average to large and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty - wheaty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and some fruitiness, light spiciness (coriander, light pepper), faint hoppyness. Body is medium, malty - some wheat and sweetish flavor, some caramel and light fruitiness. Finish is average, malty - some wheat and lightly sweetish, light caramel and light fruitiness, light spiciness and light hoppyness, light alcohol. Lightly sweetish strong ale - light alcohol/spiciness make finish bit drier. Anyway, quite one-dimensional.
