This is Sloop Brewing’s bold aggressive beer. The Red C contains three different hop varieties that begin with the letter “C”. The beer has a deep red hue and stands at 6.7% abv. Red C pours with a crimson red color and an effervescent white head. The complex malt flavor comes from a variety of finely kilned grains. The American hops provide the beer with hints of lemon, mango and citrus flavors. The clean ale yeast allows your palate to correctly identify all of these complex flavors.

Growler from source at the brewery. Nice medium floral aroma. Lemony with a little mango on the back end. Enjoyable.

22 oz. bottle from Dave’s Bellport Cold Beer & Soda. Pours a lightly hazed reddish amber with a moderate yellow-white head that lasted beyond mid-glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of orange and grapefruit with notes of malt and caramel. The flavor rich and malty with some caramel present as well. This is followed by some solid orange and grapefruit hops bitterness. Dries out at the finish. Medium-full bodied. Well done.

Aroma of malty and some fruity hops, maybe mango or peachy? Flavor is roasted malt. Almost has a slight coffee taste. There is some hop balance as well. Full flavored, but light carbonation that died fast. Pretty good overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at pony bar HK. Pours a reddish amber body with thin white lacing, no head. Aroma is super strange for an IPA/pale - sweet caramel candy, vanilla, light pine needles and toffee. Thankfully and surprinsingly not a malt bomb. Flavors include bright pine and grapefruit. This is so weird. Almost like one of those candies that transforms flavors in your mouth. The aroma is completely misleading to what the the palate takes in, and it’s a not a bad thing. Overall, super unique and interesting.

A bit like a hoppy Irish ale. Lots of citrus on the nose, caramel, some nuttiness, grapefruit. Nice red pour, off white head. The flavor is lovely hop forward citrus/grapefruit, caramel, toasted malt, nutty. The finish is citrus, pine. Slightly thicker than medium in body. Nicely done.

Bottle. Pours a clear reddish copper body under a minimal fizzy off-white head that vanished quickly. The nose is nicely hoppy with some citrusy notes. A little too much toasty and sweet grain below the hops for my tastes though, hopefully this isn’t overly sweet. The flavor really reminds me of a moderately hopped Irish Ale more than what I’m expecting from an IPA. Lots of toasty and husky malt below the minimally bitter citrusy hops. This doesn’t reach up into IPA level as far as I’m concerned. If this is their most aggressive beer, then they need to expand their horizons a bit. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. This one just doesn’t do it for me.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks zvikar. Murky amber with creamy head. Hoppy, some nettle and flowers aroma. Very bitter, pine and nettle taste with toasty undertones, medium body and a very bitter finish.

Bottle sample. Hazy dark amber color with a big beige head. Tropical fruits aroma, with citrusy hops and pines. Juicy hop flavors, hi bitterness with some caramel and faint marmalade. Dry, over carbonated, a bit astringent, medium bodied and quite nice.
