Sample from bottle at ÖWGBG-2013: Hazy dark red colour, with a thin brown head. Aroma had aloys of woody, whisky "nose",sweet maltynes, and vanilla!! and fruits. Flavor had a smouth mouth feeling of caramelly, vanilla, wooody, and a nice alcy finish, complexity is the Word for this beer. Big body and a long woody/fruity finish.

courtesy of Per - black beer under a persistent beige foam; fair aroma of vanilla and wood, dark chocolate; full-bodied, some malt sweetness and a robust bitterness, fairly bitter and with a long aftertaste of chocolate, nougat, wood and vanilla; warming alcohol kick - robust and pretty delicious

Nydelig duft av kaffe, bek, lakris og sjokolade. Dyp mørk farge, nesten sort. Lite skum, noe langs kant. Nydelig smak av kaffe, bek, lakris og mørk sjokolade med en litt spiss ettersmak. Kjempegodt.

The smell is of oak, tar and strong alcohol. The taste is really good. Coffee, dark chocolate with a good bitterness. Not too dry. Just right. Bitterness in the aftertaste lies down on top of the tongue for a long time. Much like a Cappochino can be said about the aftertaste. I liked this a lot. Sample from the brewery. Primarily malty smell with chocolate and caramel, fairly sweet with some oak and whisky in the background. Similar taste. The different aromas mix well together and makes for a nice beer to lean back and sip on.

Svesse (5845) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 28, 2012
(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 29 Sep 2012) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, chocolate, a touch of coffee and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dried fruit, chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar and a gentle, spicy bitterness in the finish. Full body, with a certain sweetness (but not overly sweet). Chewy and almost oily mouthfeel. Very nice.
