(Bottle). Big hops fragrance with notes of tropical fruits and sweet flowers. Nice and smooth taste that first is mostly hops and then gets a flavoring of lightly burnt coffee and roasted malt. Palatable and well balanced, really good!

Bottle. Almost black with a dark beige head. Aroma: roasted, rubber, licorice, hoppy with pine and something else (wrote down only "...pine and"). Taste: bitter, salty, roasted, grapefruit, pine, berries, burnt rubber, black wine gums, a hint of milk chocolate. Medium bodied. Not bad, but not very well-balanced.

TheJestersBeer (2032) - SWEDEN - OCT 31, 2012
330ml bottle. Pours a dark brown, with a beige head. Malty, slightly murky/earthy (fecal?) aroma, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, hops, yeast. Off-dry, medium to full body and bitterness, slightly low CO2. Malty, robust taste, hops are more evident on the palate, roasted, coffee, licorice, spruce, a light touch of wet paint. Too roasted for the style, lacks the up-front hop notes. (2012-09-26)

Svesse (6036) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 28, 2012
(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 29 Sep 2012) Dark brown colour with lasting pale brown head. Roasted, hoppy nose with notes of roasted malt, pine needles, grapefruit, chocolate and a touch of tar. Roasted, hoppy taste with pine needles, grapefruit, ashes, dark bread, coffee and a solid piney bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Almost full body, quite dry. One of the better black IPA’s I’ve tried. Excellent.
