Jeez what a wonderful beer. Everything is just right with this beer. The smell and the taste is heavenly. With a good and maybe a little dry aftertaste. But I just love this beer. Would it be sweeter, I had given it top marks.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Very dark brown. Mouthwatering hop aroma. Bittersweet, but more on the sweet side in the first sip, then the resin b itterness creeps in and takes over.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 29 Sep 2012) Dark brown colour with lasting pale brown head. Roasted, hoppy nose with notes of roasted malt, pine needles, grapefruit, chocolate and a touch of tar. Roasted, hoppy taste with pine needles, grapefruit, ashes, dark bread, coffee and a solid piney bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Almost full body, quite dry. One of the better black IPA’s I’ve tried. Excellent.

Fyllig och utmanande. Bra beska och komplexitet, bäst slottskällan på länge. Kommer klart köpa den igen.

Cola-like color is red/black, thin creamy head, lacing. Aroma has strong citrus hoppiness, pine, caramel malting, bread. really soft and round in mouth, low carbonation, high on bitterness especially in finish, bit fruity sweetness in mix, medium body. I found this easy to drink and enjoy despite bitterness.

Really enjoyable nearly overwhelming bitterness. Still quite well balanced.

courtesy of Per - almost black beer, cloudy and with a robust and long lasting creamy beige foam; nice lacework; fair aroma of licorice and black chocolate, roasted malts and hay; assertive and tasty, some astringence and a solid bitterness, full-bodied, roasted chocolatey and earthy finish with a long lingering hoppy bitterness and more notes of licorice

Bottle, bought @ Systembolaget, Hyltebruk. Pours lovely black with a small, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has roasted malts, light dark chocolate, soft citrus, light pine. Medium to low carbonation, fine dry and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has quite some roasted malts, light coffee and cocoa. Fine bitterness with pine and citrus. Roasted astringent lingering bitterness.
