Fyllig kropp. Mycket njutbar.

Black beer with smallish head. Aroma has roasted malts, dark chocolate, syrup, coffee and salty licorice. Taste starts with salty licorice, then some syrup and dark chocolate with an bitter hoppy and roasted malts in the end. Full body and pretty well carbonated for a Imperial Stout. Pretty decent.

Bottle split at JF’s, thanks to an IP trade with Ronny (rlgk), 26/12/13, 2009 vintage. Light black with a thin light tan head that clears to nothing - not a handsome impy to look at! Nose is light smoke, dark roastings, treacle toffee, cocoa. Taste comprises dark toffee fudge, sweet tasting, earthy, chocolate, boozey twang. Medium bodied with bite, limited carbonation - pretty flat and lifeless, sweet closure with a little more booze creeping in. Low ranking for style, not a looker, no carbonation, lacks depth.

2013 bottle at Oliver Twist (BB May 2015). Head is initially small, soda-like, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, dark chocolate), with notes of vanilla. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively/soft carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Dreadfully simple, surprisingly...only the most basic suspects in the nose, and syrupy sweet without much to balance in the mouth. Doesn’t look very appetizing either, with a flimsy, large-bubbled head that almost completely disappears. Quite disappointing.
