COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Liten beska. Medelfyllig men kort eftersmak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, shared by Leighton at Bruce’s. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasty, sweet dark fruit, caramel, chocolate and coffee. The taste is bitter-sweet, roasted malt, cola, earth, coffee, toasted brown sugar, toffee, light alcohol warmth and root beer with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent.

Bottle at Bruce’s - London. Picked this up so e where in Sweden, I reckon. Vintage 2010. Pours red-brown with a very tight, creamy beige head. Sugary dark malt nose, some marshmallows, bit of ripe dark fruits. Big sweet flavor, dark sugars, grapes, raisins, some chocolate, rich bread. Full bodied with fine fine, creamy carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more sugary dark malts, toffee, raisins, chocolate, rich bread, faint bitter earth. Very nice.

Dark brown, slightly reddish, almost black beer with little beige head. Aromas of dark fruits, coffee and sweet malts. Warmth of alcohol is also present in the nose. Taste is dominated by roasted malts, followed by espresso-like coffee, dark bread and sweet dark chocolate. The body is full with strong bitterness making a long smooth finish. There's surprisingly lots of carbonation. Alcohol also feels a bit in the finish as the glass warmens up. A solid imperial stout, but not quite my favourite.

Bottle thanks to Kai !

Head: small, away fast
Colour: dark brown / black
Smell: sweet, slight booze, chocolate, mild coffee
Taste: start is candy sugar, then bitterness both from coffee as from chocolat, roasted malts and roasted charcoal flavours, end is dry and somewhat soy like. Jummy !

Marstonlad (408) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 17, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2013 A black color and a little white head. Aroma has roasty and chocolaty elements with light smokiness and licorice. Taste is sweet, malty and roasty. Licorice and chocolate are the prominent flavours, also some light fruity notes. The finish comes a bit too soon; stronger hoppiness would have added depth and balance to the taste. Full body, flat. This Imperial Stout had a nice malty character but lacked a little hoppiness, in my opinion.
