Alkoholhalt: 9 %

This is one of those beers that if you remind yourself that this is a European stout, you can get into; if you dwell too much on the American examples you’ll end up shortchanging this beer. Red on brown with a head that leans more to the white than off-white, which is curious for an Imperial Stout (by American standards at least). A layer of tea amid the roasted dimensions and grape edges. Easy drinking, and a bit thin if you’re picky, but satisfying nonetheless.

(33cl bottle) Off-white head atop a clear red-brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, some roast. Taste is moderately sweet, chocolate, some roast. Smooth medium body that hides the alcohol well. Thin by American standards, but a delicious beer by any standard.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2005 Wonderfull apperance, Black in colour and fantastic head, fantastic aroma, with coffee and caramel. Powerfull lasting flavour, but it tastes like cold coffee, palate a bit to thin. Not a beer I would try again!!!!

Black colour with a light brown mostly lasting lacing head. Sweet aroma with hints of caramel and coffee. Medium bitter taste with a heavy bitter aftertaste. Full body.

Bottle purchased from Plan B, Copenhagen. Jet black, with a nice big, beige head. Strong oily, roast aroma. Good mouthful - great hoppiness initially, relaxing slightly into a hot chocolate, deep roast. Soft, light malt in the finish, which seems a little lazy, but otherwise it’s good stuff.

330 ml bottle, ABV is 9.0%. Very dark reddish brown colour, nearly black. Excellent large and thick brown head. Lovely roasty aroma with strong notes of dark chocolate. Flavour is very roasty with strong notes of coffee, also some chocolate but not very sweet. Bitter finish, it’s hard to tell how much of the bitterness comes from the roastiness and how much from the hops - obviously both elements are plentiful. A first class imperial stout!

Chocolate and fruity taste. Very dark color (coffee) and a lasting head. Alcohol percentage was 9 percent but you can’t taste any of it. Quite complicated taste. A very good beer!

A very dark Brown with a brick Red edge and a tan head. Very rich & fragrant, black licorice, coffee beans, a hint of smoke. Roasty up front with a sweet middle and a lingering bittersweet follow. Very nice feel, thick and mouth-coating, these Impy’s are delicious! A big "Domo Arigatou Gozaimasu" to Per for this Gem!

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Almost black beer albeit a slight reddish note. Thick, brown licorice-like head. Extremely full-bodied with a dry, burned mouthfeel and a pronounced bitterness probably mainly originating in the black malts. Very complex flavour-patterns and an impressingly, warming alcohol. Very sophisticated beer to be enjoyed in small doses. 021004
