It looks tempting in the glass, smells chrismassy (not right for th beginning of May) but is quite okay on a sunny spring day as well. The aroma lingers for a while; the flavors are a bit confusing, can't really classify it but the essence is positive.

fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - APR 8, 2003
Dark amber color; generous head. Original aroma: malt, caramel, light wallnuts, chocolate. Good body structure, quite dry: malt, some caramel, light wallnuts; getting sweeter at the end. Quite bitter palate (with some caramel, not extraordinary).

Bov (8158) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JAN 24, 2003
dark amber-brown colour, almost no head, fresh fruity and spicy (cloves? netmug?) aroma, medium-bodied, dry spicy finish - balanced and original

pilsnerrogge (2271) - Finspång, SWEDEN - MAR 6, 2002
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2009 Amber/brown colour, the head diminishes quickly. Fruity, spicy aroma. The flavour is an overhelming mixture of various spices, way too may spices. Dry finish.

Dark brown heavily spiced ale. Rather malty, but the gingerbread flavour takes over.

This has a really bready, toasty character. It is apparently supposed to be a spiced beer, but I didn’t get much of that, and classified it a Vienna at the time.
