3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 omhper (17461) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 28, 2006
UPDATED: APR 20, 2006 Bottled. Clear golden, small head. Aroma of grass and bready malt. Dry and very soft. Very laid back - it’s just to sit back and enjoy the flavours from teh malt and grassy, spicy hops. Uncomplictaed and not as crisp and bitter as some pilseners, but it has it’s strength in the balance and mouthfeel. Slottskällans beers might be a little hit and miss at times, but this is a slapshot in the club hand corner...
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Bov (8158) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUN 4, 2006
hazy pale golden colour and a giant foamy white head; lemony, grassy hoppy nose; effervescent, meidu-bodied and with a tart bitterness; long dry and strongly hoppy finish where grassy and flowery notes show up - a very nice pils !
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 tlind2 (929) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 16, 2008
330 ml bottle. Golden color, frothy white head. Slight woody aroma. Very smooth flavor with fresh malts and some grass. Well-balanced easy bitterness. Very drinkable, has to be one of the best pilseners available in the Finnish market.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ingevara (711) - SWEDEN - MAY 24, 2006
Unusually light color, but with a surprising deep and refreshing hoppy aroma with a pinch of resin and just enough sugar to make it r e a l l y enjoyable.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 OleR (4247) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 9, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 16, 2008 500 ml bottle. Thick, lasting white head over a clear pale yellow/golden body. Both dry grain/cereal and fresh floral hops in the aroma. Taste is flavorfull and nicely balanced, soft malty and gently bitter. Crisp mouthfeel. Healthy body. Pleasant bitter/sweet finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 rickgordon (3815) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 6, 2006
Bottled.
Pale golden colour. Frothy, steady head. Bready, earthy nose, maybe a vague tone of diacetyl. Slottskällan House Character lies like a blanket over eventual aromas. Very soft mouthfeel. Light, yet smooth malty with Saaz most prominent and that earthy character from this brewery. Also diacetyl, but without the butteriness. Lightly bitter.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ante (3374) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 7, 2006
Bottle. Pale golden Cotton-loke foam. Dry grassy aroma, notes of bread, nuts and hay. Pleasant hoppy flavour of grass, notes of bread and soap. Pretty crisp and dry finish of wet grass and minerals. The best bottom fermented beer I’ve sampled from Slottskällans for years.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 TBone (9999) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 30, 2006
Bottled (BB 08/2006).
Yellow color, small white head. Fresh cut grass aroma. Refreshing grassy flavor, long grassy aftertaste. Excellent hoppy summer drink. Hersbrucker is not so familiar to me, but I suppose it is a hop which gives character here.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 larsga (5325) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 14, 2007
Huge white coarse head doesn’t last. Pale yellow body. Light sugary, caramelly aroma dominated by hoppy, earthy peas. Notes of paper. Harmonic and balanced. Dry, yet firmly sweetish, caramelly taste with earthy, strawy, pea-like hop notes. Dry, lingering straw and grain aftertaste with hoppy notes. Wow! This must be one of the best pilseners I’ve tasted. It’s light, tasty, and even ... dare I say it ... structured. Excellent. (0.5l bottle from Systembolaget, Stockholm.)
