COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Roslager is a pale lager beer. A beer with good maltiness and medium wort strength. Together with a big spicyness from the hops this creates a beer with a balanced flavour and convincing bitterness in the finish. A beer with flavour from the tradition in the archipelago.

Two 330 ml bottles. I mention this because I poured the first one down the drain, thinking it had gone bad. But nooo, this beer is probably supposed to taste like a compost heap of last month’s grass and wet leaves. The color is an attractive golden hue, but everything goes downhill from there. I didn’t finish the second bottle either. Just plain awful.

A 0.33L bottle 4.4% from local K-Citymarket. Slightly grassy nose. Pale head. Pale golden yellow coloured. Also some roastiness in the nose. Roasted grassy taste. Sharp hoppiness. Lacey forming head.

Bottle. Golden colour with a medium sized white head. Aroma is malty with notes of hops. Malty flavour with hints of grass, spices and toffee. Medium-bodied and slightly bitter finish. Quite nice lager.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2009 33cl bottle, 4.4%. Golden, tiny coarse head. Toasty aroma with grainy malts and light mint. Similar, honest bready flavor with soft & lovely minty hops, some hay too. Moderate bitterness. Almost medium bodied, smooth average carbonation. Pretty characteristic, and of course very sessionable pale lager.
On tap this is modest citric seeds and grain, no bitteness, very easy drinking dry session brew.

0,33l bottle, ABV 4,4%. Nice golden color, little head. Nose is very malty. Flavor is quite boring, malty and kind of sweet. Not much to write about.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 19 Sep 2008) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, grassy nose with fresh, grassy and slightly citrussy hops and a hint of pineapple. Malty taste with notes of hay, fresh grass and grassy, citrussy hops in the finish. Well balanced with a fresh and nice hop character.

Draught@ Svenska Dagar, Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Clear lager looks. Malty, sugary aroma. Taste a bit watery, but with a good bitterness. Short finish though.

Draught@ Svenska Dagar, Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Looks like a standard lager, but a bit hazy and with a huge, thick white head. Smells like a Finnish lager (at least not like a Swedish one). Taste quite ok, though. Nasty finish.

Light golden with a malty/hoppy aroma. The flavour has a rather sweet malt profile and a moderate bitterness. IMO it’s not nearly as balanced as the other, very nice beers from this brewery, and not in the same league at all!

Keg (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Swedish Days 2007) Bland lagery aroma. Taste to match. Tries to be hoppy, but not very crisp or bitter. Nope.
Earlier Rating: 11/21/2007 Total Score: 1.8
Keg (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Swedish Days 2007) Straw coloured, lively white head. Clean crisp hoppy pilsner aroma, quite pleasant for a lager. In the mouth it’s a disaster! Washing up liquid, soapy, nasty. When that passes it’s a watery lager. Not good, never again.

ekstedt (4544) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 28, 2007
Bottle, 50 cl. Clear golden, small soapy head. Grainy malt aroma, with an unpleasant touch of potatoes and cauliflower. Some herbal hops. Medium bodied, good carbonation. Nicely balanced flavour with a fine bitterness. But this annoting potatoe/cauliflower aroma which appears in many SB brews destroys this beer.
