COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Två sorters humle: First gold och Sovereign.

The scent is rather vague, with hints of roasted malt and coffee. The taste is a bit thin but it has the classic flavors of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. The finish is slightly dry. An okay porter but as I said a little too thin!

0.33L bottle, picked up @Systembolaget, Charlottenberg. A huge fluffy, mostly diminishing tanned head, upon a dark brown to near black body. Initial aroma is fruity, almost perfumey yeasty. Then a smell of mild choco and sweet licorice. Taste is on the drier side. Cocoa-ish malt flavor. Choco tones and well prononced roastiness. Bittering hops for balancing. Less than medium full. Lively in the mouth. Finishes dry, roasty and fairly bitter. A quite unusual Porter. Went well down, though.

Black color with a mediumsized beige head. Roasted aroma with cocoa powder, coffee, and some phenolic clove like notes, alsom some herbs. Flavour is dry and roasted with cocoa, coffee and liquorice, and also some phenolic notes. Medium bitterness with some herb-like/grassy notes in the finish. Mediumbodied with rather lively carbonation. Hm, not that convinced.

Mad_Ferret (658) - SWEDEN - OCT 24, 2011
UPDATED: OCT 25, 2011 Bottle. Pitch black with a nice dense creamy mocha head that leaves some lacings. Hard roasted aroma and a bit sourish with coffee and chocolate hiding in the background with some vanilla. Taste is very acidic burnt with a light sweetness that is pushed down by a big burnt grassy bitterness. Coffee, chocolate, tar pastille and also here some vanilla. A bit thin and watery with quite lively bubbles. Nice flavors, but a bit watery in the middle and also maybe a bit too ashy.
