COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Draught at Harry’s, Jyväskylä. Dark reddish brown color. Aromas of clove and raisins. Taste of clove, pepper, raisins, bitter chocolate and herbal bitterness. Fairly full body. Dark malts and spiciness does not mix well here, or perhaps this needs aging for flavors to integrate better.

courtesy of Per - cloudy dark brown beer under a long lasting beige foam; aroma of candi sugar, nutmegs and pear; creamy palate and very sweet; medium to full-bodied, lot of residual sweetness; long malty finish with notes of nougat, yeast and molasses - chaotic and original

gnoff (7471) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - JUN 23, 2012
33 cl bottle, e-order from Systembolaget. BB 130117, sampled on June 23, 2012
Clear dark brown color, big lasting tan head. Spicy, phenolic, estery, fruity, a bit of smoke and metallic, some barnyard and lactic scent, as well as a hint of roasted malt. Nothing off about it, rather fresh and interesting. Quite subtle and intriguing, well balanced smell. Malty, some roasted notes, acdity at a reasonable level, grainy, some bitterness, fruity, fruit peels, raw grains, alcohol taste. Warming alcohol. Grainy aftertaste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness that is to the slight bit harsh side, might be the alcohol bite on the tongue. Minerals and some yeast.
Perhaps nothing I’d sit with several bottles on a single night, but as per one bottle it’s nice and sippable, a well made beer, good balance. Perhaps for my personal taste the alcohol could be lower.
