COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An autumn brown ale with distinctive toasty flavors from an assortment of roasted malts and grains. As a seasonal, limited release beer, its nutty characteristics offer a great companion to colder climate cuisine. A bright hop finish from Cascade and Fuggles balance the toasted grain notes to create a new expression of autumn brown ales. Brewed with Toasted Buckwheat, Maris Otter, Victory, Brown and Chocolate malts. Balanced with a bright hop finish from Fuggles and Cascade.

Bottle shared by hammerslammer. Thanks for sharing this beer with me hammerslammer. Notes of pleasant toasted hazelnuts. Coffee roast. Best slumbrew beer I’ve had. Pretty clean. Nice. Bit too big.

Bottle from Julios. Pours out a very dark brown brew with a deep tan head. Nice roasty aromas. Flavor is deep and malty with lots of layers. Chocolate and roasted nuts. Not overly sweet and very well balanced. Fantastic!

On tap at Cambridge Common 1/12/2013 with Erica. Deep brown or black pour with a beige head that vanishes quickly. Subdued coffee and nuts on the nose. Toasty, spicy palate upfront. Notes of toast, coffee grounds, and some cocoa. Pretty decent.

From a bottle. Really great beer. Almost a cross between a brown ale and a stout. Rich chocolate nose and slightly sweet finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown pour with a light beige head. Aroma is punchy espresso, bitter chocolate, and toasted grain. Delightfully creamy and smooth. This beer is downright delicious. Nice balance of bitter espresso, chocolate malt, and light cascade bitterness. Forward flavors, a great creaminess, and a lasting bitter chocolate finish. An underlying toastiness ties everything into a lovely, brown ale. Get some. It’s good.

Pours deep mahogany into a Sam glass. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Dark chocolate, espresso and caramel aromas. Dry with deep dark chocolate upfront turning full in the lasting bitter espresso finish.

This is a great beer, Autumn is my favorite season because of all of the brown ales which come out, hop content not distinct but not too crazy while the malt body is perfection. Great with a steak or a chilly night on the porch!!
