COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flagraiser IPA is a big, hoppy tribute to the unfurling of the Grand Union flag atop Prospect Hill in Somerville, MA on January 1, 1776. This ale celebrates our passion for hop aroma and flavor balanced with just the right amount of malt. Huge aroma and resin-y flavors from the elusive Galaxy hops are the signature of this beer. Built on a solid base of pale malts, this double IPA makes generous use of hops from Columbus, Crystal and Galaxy with the Galaxy hops taking the lead during ten days of aggressive dry-hopping.

Pours cloudy orage with a thin white head. Some citrus hops and malts on the nose. Too much carbonation. Pine. Bitter. Would like this to be smoother.

Poured from 22oz bottle. Very dark murky thick looking orange. Dank apricot and hops aroma. Taste is bitter and floral, good hops, thick pallett. Not bad but wouldn't seek it out again

All around bruiser. Loads of residual sweetness to balance out the buttload of hops. Big and herbal with a good amount of grapefruit backing it up. The bitterness lingers in the best kind of way.

From the bottle. Copper color, slight haze, off white head and minimal lacing. Light pine grass hop aroma with floral & citrus scents. Sweeter initial taste than anticipated, but moves to bitter side immediately with burnt piney hop resin, leaves, leather and some grass. Lingering bitterness is just okay.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 5/16/13

Aroma: The nose has some hops, pine, sweet malts, orange, and a hint of alcohol
Appearance: It pours a bright orange color with a small white head and drippy white lace
Flavor: Tastes similar to the nose component-wise, it is decently hoppy, but a little sweet for the style
Palate: The body is medium, kind of sticky on the mouth, with a dry, almost barleywine-like finish
Overall Impression: I’m thinking these guys are new to NJ, as this is the first time I’ve seen them. Anyway, I thought this was an alright IPA but not a standout. It almost felt like something was missing, but I’m not exactly sure what.

Tap. Clear copper with cram head and lacing. Smells a little floral and a little citrus and a little piney. Tastes lightly bitter them more bitter as it grows. A tad grainy and a tad rubbery- reminds me of something I had in PDX that I can’t quite recall. Decent.

22oz bomber from Spirits Brick. For a "brewery" new to NJ if this is the best/freshest IPA you have don’t bother. Poured a boring looking brown/amber with a foamy off white head. Aroma of stale hops and lots of caramel malts and some bread crusts. Medium bodied with softer carbonation and a drier dusty finish. Flavor is the same as the aroma. This is simply put a super dull boring IPA that I could gladly live without in my state.

Pour is a hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is floral and hoppy. Flavor is about the same but with more of a heavier malt presence. Kinda just you average no frils pedestrian IPA.

Tasted from a 22oz.bomber. Poured a frothy, beige colored head. Subtle hop aroma. A very bitter beer. I’ve had the bottle a few months and I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it.

Had it our of a 22oz bomber, poured a hazy amber hue with a frothy head and a hoppy, slight wet basement aroma. The taste is strong bitter hop with a alcohol finish.

Fairly even mix of caramel, orange, and grapefruit, nothing exotic, but nice intensity. Clear orange, medium yellow head, sticky. Caramel and peanut hull flavor. Grassy orange peel on the back end. Solid malt backbone. Tastes like the hops fell offf a bit, but still decent. Bottle is undated. Could almost be a DIPA.
