Flagraiser IPA is a big, hoppy tribute to the unfurling of the Grand Union flag atop Prospect Hill in Somerville, MA on January 1, 1776. This ale celebrates our passion for hop aroma and flavor balanced with just the right amount of malt. Huge aroma and resin-y flavors from the elusive Galaxy hops are the signature of this beer. Built on a solid base of pale malts, this double IPA makes generous use of hops from Columbus, Crystal and Galaxy with the Galaxy hops taking the lead during ten days of aggressive dry-hopping.

Pours cloudy orage with a thin white head. Some citrus hops and malts on the nose. Too much carbonation. Pine. Bitter. Would like this to be smoother.

Hazy orange with a thick white head. Grassy aroma and a bit of citrus. A bit grainy and well balanced. Pretty malty for style ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. Clear burnt orange with a film of cream. Aroma is earthy caramel, lightly spicy citrus and touches of cherry and dried wood. Flavors of orange toffee, dried wood and sherry. Medium-heavy body has medium carbonation and a nice balance. Seems a bit boozy for 7.5%.

Bottle. Slightly hazy orange pour with a white head. Aroma and taste of guava and resin, but there’s a little unwelcome caramel/toffee in here too that I could live without. Close to being very good.

Backlog rating on 8-23-2012 (Bottled on 05-2012) The appearance of this beer is a medium sized off-white head with a long retention, slightly hazy golden body, very fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is pine hops and pine hops. The flavor is pine hops, bitter, caramel malt, and a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. For the style, this beer is not very hoppy tasting which makes it very quaffable for non-hopheads and worth trying.

it is a burnt orange brew with dark flecks and flavors of hop and broomstraw. unpretentious with a fuller body suds and substantial. tosted bit of caramel wafting an original.

Bottle. Nose is heavy pine and dark caramel, with abundant spicy hop character and some veins of citrus. Juice, big resin, light dough, great assertive hoppiness. Pours golden leaning to orange with a dense tan head. Taste is strongly bitter, some alcohol seepage, strongest caramel and earthier and woodier than expected, with mild but everpresent citrus slicing through the middle. Relatively smooth full body, semi-dry, very fresh and a little green, great hop juice!

Orangy golden, slightly cloudy, small off white head. Aroma citrus hops, hay and grass, some sweet malts. Medium to medium-light body. Grassy herbal hops, lightly bitter, some malty background. A competent if unmemorable IPA.

A lightly hazed golden amber Ipa with a thin frothy light mocha head. In aroma, nice fruity caramel malt with loads of floral and resinous hops, light sulfur notes, a bit funky. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt with floral and resinous hops, light oxidation, attenuated citrus, still solid after a few years.
