COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A refreshingly tart and crisp hefeweizen brewed with local MA wildflower honey, orange peel and coriander, and fermented with the juice from over 1,000 blood oranges. It’s a cloudy, yet effervescent beer, with lingering banana and citrus notes balanced against a healthy wheat backbone and hoppy finish from Mt. Hood and Crystal hops.

sample at yankee spirits beer festival, the orange flavor that the blood oranges add here is very impressive. Good idea!

Whole orange, lemon, and coriander. Clear amber, medium head. Very tart unripe orange flavor on the front end. Grapefruit also present. Pleasant malty wheat finish. Medium body.

Hazy, light amber pour with a tall, chunky, off white head. Lots of floral and citrus in the aroma, a little banana and a decent amount of coriander. Taste starts off with tons of coriander and ascorbic acid, some dusty grain and citrus pop in, but mostly coriander and ascorbic acid. Light body, with a heavy, sharp and very blanketing carbonation. The high carbonation and the fact that it tastes like somebody crushed Vitamin C pills in it make this a little unpleasant to taste, but once you get past the weird tartness it isn’t that awefull.

22oz bottle 2/17/12 (Binny’s Naperville)-44° in Weizen Glass-Pours a c;poudy orange with a small white head for a body. Aroma of wheat, citrus, and banana. Taste of the same with a bit of grains. This medium bodied brew is not bad.

Dark golden pour with a significant white head. Aroma is spicy wheat and tangy citrus. Mild and a bit flat in the mouth. Flavor is subdued clove, wheat, some sweet orange. Not nearly as much zip as I was expecting. Meh

Pours an opaque "rusty orange" with a white quickly dissipating head. Nose is slight hops, orange, wheat - all faint. Palate is dominateed by tartness with faint wheat. It is a different heffe.

Lukaduke (1065) - Portland, Maine, USA - AUG 27, 2012
Poured a lsightly hazy rusty orange color with a two finger foam that does not stick around too long. Aromas are a tad subtle but full of wheaty spice and citrus. On the palate the hefewiezen qualities are very subtle and a tad watered down by the slightly heavy handed blood orange. Its not a bad beer its just a bit underwhelming and lacking a real focus in flavor.

On tap at the Great Lost Bear. Significant orange aroma. Cloudy orange appearance, with a little head. Cider taste, orange juice added to a wheat beer. Very wheaty character, not a hefe. OK drinkability.
