Bottle on 7/9/14. Pours a very dark brown/black with a thin and lasting off white head. Aroma is cocoa powder, brown sugar, roasted malt, nice. Taste is great. Milk chocolate, cocoa, sweet. Silky mouthfeel. Solid porter ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had a funky smell at first, but probably because I had to drink it from the bottle. However, the taste is fabulous. It is a poor man's Founders Breakfast Oatmeal stout, which is still very good. Nice coffee and chocolate aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slumbrew Porter Square Porter has a thin, beige head, a very dark, almost black, brown appearance, and slight lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of chocolate, milk, burnt malt, and a bit of acidic. Taste is of sugar, milk, chocolate, acidic bitterness, char, and dark-roasted malt. Mouthfeel is fairly heavy and velvety, and Slumbrew Porter Square Porter finishes semi-dry, easy drinking, and not at all alcohilic. RJT

22 oz. bottle dark brown black pour, thin white head. Served lightly chilled. Aroma is moderate roasted malts with burnt coffee beans.

Body is nice and full for a standard porter. Flavor is nice roasted malts, burnt espresso bean, charred malts, caramel and milk chocolate. Soft carbonation giving a light creamy texture. Well crafted porter and worth a try for sure.

On tap at The Summer Shack, Alewife. Inviting aromas of roasted malt and rich dark chocolate. Pitch black with a thin tan head. I found the mouthfeel on this superb- super smooth and supple. Creamy without being cloying, rich without being thick, roasted but not burnt. Flavours of dark chocolate and espresso with a hint of plums. One of the nicest porters I've had, this was fantastic a great finish to a short trip to Boston.

Pours a clear dark brown body under a fizzy light brown head that left some sparce lacing. The nose is really super chocolaty, it smells like a milk chocolate bar. A little caramel and huskiness as well. The flavor is all sweet milk chocolate with some slightly grainy husky earthiness on the finish. Not the most complex porter, but pretty enjoyable if you’re into real chocolaty porters. Light bodied with fizzy carbonation and a lingering slightly sweet finish. Decent enough.

Heavy chocolate and Italian coffee aroma. Pours out an ink black. Interesting hard, bitter chocolate and burnt coffee taste. Presents itself as very strong too. Milky, heavy body. Okay porter that maybe overdoes the chocolate part. Lingers lie winter in Porter Square.
