On tap at The Summer Shack, Alewife. Inviting aromas of roasted malt and rich dark chocolate. Pitch black with a thin tan head. I found the mouthfeel on this superb- super smooth and supple. Creamy without being cloying, rich without being thick, roasted but not burnt. Flavours of dark chocolate and espresso with a hint of plums. One of the nicest porters I've had, this was fantastic a great finish to a short trip to Boston.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear dark brown body under a fizzy light brown head that left some sparce lacing. The nose is really super chocolaty, it smells like a milk chocolate bar. A little caramel and huskiness as well. The flavor is all sweet milk chocolate with some slightly grainy husky earthiness on the finish. Not the most complex porter, but pretty enjoyable if you’re into real chocolaty porters. Light bodied with fizzy carbonation and a lingering slightly sweet finish. Decent enough.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Heavy chocolate and Italian coffee aroma. Pours out an ink black. Interesting hard, bitter chocolate and burnt coffee taste. Presents itself as very strong too. Milky, heavy body. Okay porter that maybe overdoes the chocolate part. Lingers lie winter in Porter Square.

(bottle) Faint aroma of coffee, cocoa and malt. Pours a think and quickly diminishing head. Chocolate brown complexion. The flavor includes cocoa with mild roasted malts and some misplaced hops. Slick mouthfeel.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is a pretty decent porter. Pours jet black with caramel head and substantial lacing. Aromas are subdued, hints of chocolate and roasted malt. The taste hits you with immediate notes of chocolate and roasted coffee, so much coffee that this could be called a "coffee porter." Sweet taste finishes off with a tiny bit of bitterness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. It is a perfect looking Porter pour with its dark brown to nearly black color and modest off-white head. The aroma is rather mellow but it does espouse some smoky and dark malt elements. There is a kind if toasted character to it too. The body is medium. The taste is mild overall with an nice dose of dark malts and cream. Worth trying.
