COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rich black porter with a unique blend of chocolate, coffee, roasted and nutty flavors. Brewed with cocoa powder and conditioned with cacao nibs from Taza Chocolate. Bold flavors from the cacao nibs and black malts are balanced with a special blend of pale malts, oats and wheat to produce a lush and lingering mouthfeel.

Chocolate, coffee, and a little metallic funk in the aroma. Flavor is mostly bitter with smoke, coffee grinds, and cocoa. Roast coffee bitterness and a little alcohol in the finish. Pretty good.

On the Seventh Day of Christmas 2013 the beer gods gave to me . . . one robust porter. Pours a dark brown color with a caramel colored head. Aroma of caramel, cocoa, and hints of vanilla, with a nice roast profile. Sweet roasty caramel taste with a hit of hops and cocoa and vanilla on the backend. Nice mouthfeel. Well balanced.

Bottle. Pours black with tan head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, chocolate. Taste is bitter, astringent, and a bit harsh. Not a smooth roasted flavor. Bite lingers on my tongue a bit.

Bottle; Pour is dark brown, a fine bubbled, one finger light khaki head into this glass, with average retention here, some decent cobweb as well. The nose is grain, chocolate cake, modest roast, with more dark fruit than expected. The flavor profile is chocolate cake, bitter morsels, dark fruit, some grains present again, moving to roast, with a lingering bitterness here. It grew on me a bit, I suppose.

12oz single from Wine Academy. Poured a pitch black body with an average sized foamy mocha colored head that left some spotty lace on my Carton teku. Aroma is big and syrupy with lots of burnt malts, dark chocolate, lactose, well done toast. Medium to fuller bodied with slightly stronger carbonation and a lingering bitterness on the back of my throat. Flavor is a slight step down from the aroma, notes of copper, dark toast, super light coffee with tons of creamer, chocolate. Solid beer.
