Bottle @ Richard’s Tasting. Dark brown pour with a massive head. Acidic roasted malt on the nose. Some old cocoa, coffee, and old garbage. A bit of smoke and band aid, too. The flavor is really acidic and lightly bitter. Some old coffee grounds, roast, and smoke. Some band aids and paper as well. This is just unpleasant.

I never expected to find this one in Chicago; I guess I’ll chalk it up to the wonders of globalization. Draft. Almost black, medium brown head, delicate lacing. Aroma of lightly spiced coffee taste is spiced coffee grounds. Tasty.

Bomber. After gushing, it poured near-black with a towering, sticky tan head. The aroma picked up sweet, lightly-smoked black and chocolate malts, with vanilla and slight herbal accents around.. simple, toasty, and welcoming. The flavor found well-roasted black malt, chocolate, and coffee at the core, with lightly soured black malts and mildly bitter coffee grounds around.. finished with smoked malt-kissed black patent and a touch of sourness. Light-medium bodied, dry, and roasty on the palate.. smooth and well-balanced.
