Rich black porter with a unique blend of chocolate, coffee, roasted and nutty flavors. Brewed with cocoa powder and conditioned with cacao nibs from Taza Chocolate. Bold flavors from the cacao nibs and black malts are balanced with a special blend of pale malts, oats and wheat to produce a lush and lingering mouthfeel.

Poured from bottle. Great aroma of cocoa and toasted malt. Solid dark with a bit of head. Tasting the chocolate and coffee in equal amounts along with malt, licorice, vanilla and a touch of spice. Maybe a bit on the sweet side for a porter, but nicely done.

Pours a rich dark brown from the tap. I suppose slightly less bitter and full than a stout would be, great rich flavor with lots of dark chocolate richness.

Rated on 7-01-2013 (Bottled 01-2012) The appearance is a large smooth tan head that mostly diminished, opaque dark brown body and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is cocoa, roasted coffee, chocolate, and malt. The flavor is roasted coffee, chocolate, malt, and a hint of caramel. The mouthfeel is soft carbonation and semi-dry. This beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, a very quaffable Porter with a very tasty flavor. It is worth trying.

Bottled Oct 2013. Pours inky black with a brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is chocolate. Tastes of cocoa and coffee. Light/medium body. Not too complex. Smooth and balanced. Finishes mildly bitter. This is a pretty good porter, a little one dimensional.

From a bottle. Poured a medium brown with a tan head that had nice retention and lace. Aroma had a nice roasted malt presence and a heavy chocolate presence. Flavor had layers of chocolate some semi-sweet and some dark chocolate which. There was a nice bitterness in the after taste which may have come from the cocoa powder. A really smooth beer that was full on the palate.
