Pour is hazy golden orange, white frothy head, some lacing. Aroma is bready, Belgian yeast, orange, banana, clove, hops and spice. Taste is earthy with pale malt, orange peel, banana and clove shining through. Nice slight hop note and booze kick on the back end. Flavors are mild with medium carbonation which makes this high ABV beer pretty easy to drink

Sampled @ Mass Brewers Fest @ Julio’s Liquors. Pours orange with a thin, sticky white cap. Sweet, fruity aroma with scents of peach, apricot, grape with a Belgian yeast background. Flavor is sweet with an alcohol burn. A bit of a heavy palate. A sipper.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a very hazy, opaque golden-orange with little head. Sugar, bread, earthy/piney hop notes on the nose. Big mouthfeel, starts off sweet with bready notes (almost like a wit or hefe) but finishes with a lingering hop bitterness and astringency. Hoppier than most Tripels. I want to like this more than I do.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Slumbrew Trekker Trippel has a thin-to-medium off-white, fizzy head, a cloudy, golden-orange appearance, which is very bubbly and leaves behind a little bit of thin lacing on the glass. The aroma is rich: spicy gingerbread, yeast zest, rich fruitcake, candied fruit, sugar, and heavy bread dough. Taste is of spice, flowers, dough, brown bread, bread crust, spices, yeast, bitterness, sugar, fruitcake, and toffee. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, with a noticeable viciousness, and Slumbrew Trekker Trippel finishes dry, rich, sweet, and bitter. Drinkability is in the sipping range. Overall, this is most excellent, and I recommend it for an interesting experience. RJT

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Reddish-orange with a thin white head of tight bubbles. The aroma hints at mandarin orange and yeast. The beer drinks with a nice tart, Belgian farmhouse character, the flavors tend to revolve around golden raisins the finish is moderately cloying but not overly so. Enjoyable. (#5084, 6/29/2013)

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
22 ounce bottle. Bright amber gold color. Small creamy white head. Sulphuric citrus malt aroma has notes of candi sugar and orange peel. Citrusy malt flavor with an obvious alcohol prescence. Lacks real complexity I’d expect from a Belgian- Style Trippel. Overall, just average for the style.
