Slumbrew Trekker Trippel has a thin-to-medium off-white, fizzy head, a cloudy, golden-orange appearance, which is very bubbly and leaves behind a little bit of thin lacing on the glass. The aroma is rich: spicy gingerbread, yeast zest, rich fruitcake, candied fruit, sugar, and heavy bread dough. Taste is of spice, flowers, dough, brown bread, bread crust, spices, yeast, bitterness, sugar, fruitcake, and toffee. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, with a noticeable viciousness, and Slumbrew Trekker Trippel finishes dry, rich, sweet, and bitter. Drinkability is in the sipping range. Overall, this is most excellent, and I recommend it for an interesting experience. RJT

This is the first new beer I’ve added. When I saw the label I new I had to try it. 22 ox bottle dated 04-2012. Pours an almost clear brownish amber with a small white head and no lacing. Smell is mostly of bananas. Aroma is much better, with bananas, cloves, jasmine, and yeast. (somehere between the Trippel I was expecting and an unfiltered Belgian White). Taste is sweet at first, then spicy with a little bitterness in the finish offsetting the bananas. The high ABV is very well hidden. Moutheel is lively despite low carbonation (thanks to the spices). Body is medium +. There’s nothing too overpowering here. An unusual and very enjoyable Trippel.

Bebum (297) - - AUG 8, 2014
Deep amber, clear, slight lace. Full body, slight carbonation, smooth texture, very rich palate with avg length and balanced finish. Madeira-like sweetness, bitter, just right acidity to prevent it from being cloying. Honey, Honeyed flavor and richness are its main qualities. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Reddish-orange with a thin white head of tight bubbles. The aroma hints at mandarin orange and yeast. The beer drinks with a nice tart, Belgian farmhouse character, the flavors tend to revolve around golden raisins the finish is moderately cloying but not overly so. Enjoyable. (#5084, 6/29/2013)

Bomber. Pour is hazy golden orange, white frothy head, some lacing. Aroma is bready, Belgian yeast, orange, banana, clove, hops and spice. Taste is earthy with pale malt, orange peel, banana and clove shining through. Nice slight hop note and booze kick on the back end. Flavors are mild with medium carbonation which makes this high ABV beer pretty easy to drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a one finger cream head that fades quickly leaving no lace. Hazy amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Light fruit nose and flavor is Belgian yeast, caramel, some tart fruit, higher ABV is hidden. Pricey at $10.04 for a 22oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT.

22oz bottle in a Trappist glass. Pours copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, some caramel malts, and floral and lightly citrusy hops. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent beer, but not the best of the style.
