3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BillKismet (2653) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 9, 2011
Melanoidin amber body with decent head. Light, breezy, musky clovy smells wafy off the glass. The body itself is defined by a juicy, fruity malt character with a prominent candi malt presence, but a more restrained yeast character that betrays itself with sprinkles of clove.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jb (1540) - Rochester, New York, USA - AUG 27, 2010
On tap at McGregor’s in a goblet. Orange highlights in brown, slight haze. Nose is yeasty and fruity. Sour palate, and sugary at times. Mouthfeel is silky and thick. Very very good. Like the esters, like the dubbel-factor, a good copy.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DaSilky1 (2570) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 25, 2010
Draft. Muddy brown, thin head. Yeasty candy sugar nose, banana bread, chunky thick belgian yeast though. Flavors concentrate around the bananaish yeast notes...a little acidic around the edges...mouthfeel a bit phlemy...not a fan of the cumbersome yeast strain here...or the phlemy mouth mucous it creates.

A dark red copper ale with a no head. In aroma, sweet candy sugar, fusel alcohol, light roasted meats. In mouth, a rather bland example with cloying sweet malt, a bit thin and lifeless. On tap at MacGregors, July 31 2010.
