UPDATED: NOV 19, 2006 Bottle. If you like raspberries you should like this fruity brew. Pretty raspberry color with fresh raspberry aroma. The taste was fizzy and tart. I remember when they 1st started making this...they must have changed the receipe...oh well

EHHH... this beer sucks. Like drinking a raspberry wine cooler. Had a nice raspberry aroma, no head, purplish/red color, and not particularly sweet or tart. like a fizzy wheat beer or wine cooler. Dreadful

Deep red-purple colour with a bright red head. Great blackberry aroma, sweet fruity with a touch of peppery character in the back. Flavour is also quite fruity with peppery/wheaty notes. Lacks a lot of the acidity that I feel a beer like this needs to brighten up the flavour. Not bad, but could be better.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle....with a tight cork that makes a nice "pop" sound when released. Pours out a pinkish red with a light pink head. Aroma is of raspberry with some tart notes. The taste wasnt as tart as I would have expected. Nice balance of sweet and tart as I find some fruit beers to be far too tart. Solid beer

Damn this thing was corked tight. Tons of carbonation. Lite and fizzy and soda like. Bubbles coating the inside of the glass. Nice carboantion keeps a thin and short lived wisp of foam on the surface. Light purple head. Color is a dark crimson raspberry. Definite raspberry aroma with some grapes in there also. Light and fizzy in the mouth. Hint of tartness and more raspberries. Light malts in there also. Semi dry palate. Finish is pretty clean with a light tart dry raspberry flavor. An ok brew.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
750 ml bottle. Pours a purple cranberry color with a thick purple beige head that fizzes out after a few minutes. Aroma is of red raspberries and grape juice. Taste is all raspberries and carbonation. Almost like drinking a sugarless raspberry cranberry/grape soft drink. Different, nothing spectacular.

Not as great as I was expecting. Bright purple color. Very carbanated. intitial punch of raspberry but then it goes totally dry and limp. It needs that puckering tartness of a new glarus.

served at NYC Brewtopiafest. I think if I had drank this on my own I would have given it a higher rating. but since there were so many other Raspberry Ale’s at the beerfest that were considerably better, this as an example of its genre only came out a very, very average beer. Pours a bruise-purple body with a carbonated pinkish head. very strong flavors. smells sweet and fruity, black cherries and raspberries. the taste was not overwhelmingly sweet however, and finishes very dry. black cherries, raspberries, wheat. slightly tart. Unfortunately, the beer is NOT well-balanced at all. the aroma is overwhelming, the taste is watered down and not complex. sure there are TONS of raspberries in there but I didn’t get much else. Not the best Raspberry beers have to offer...

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I expected a purple beer, and this did not disappoint. Beyond that, it had a medium purple head, and the distinct aroma of raspberry (all things you’d think you should be able to take for granted from this type of product). Taste, however, is not as I expected, but rather thin and somewhat citric, or tart. Not particularly sweet or flavorful, but the alcohol is well enough hidden that you’d think you were drinking some type of organic soda. $9/750ml
