Draught at Bar Great Harry. Typical project orange/amber color with the frothy off-white head. Webby lacing. Citrus, mint, tea and piney hop aroma. Flavor of solid caramel malts with peach, mint, and spicy/citrusy hops. Moderate but long lasting bitter hop finish, characterized by a combintation of resin, spice, tea and citrus. Very good SF project, but IMO not among the best I have tried. Could have been my bad mood.

Grapefruit notes throughout this super hopped latest creation of the Sly Fox IPA project - I have had many IPAs like this, super hopped but this one has some malt behind it, but still too "sweet" for my taste.

Tap at Barcade: Amber pour with a dense off white head. Has a great, rich fruity aroma with plenty of tropical notes of peach, mango, lychee, resiny notes, and a caramel malt back. The palate is nice creamy and silky. The flavor is very rich yet balanced. A solid caramel malt body, giving a rounded sweet base/ a touch of dough (which is hard to detect through the great assertive hops) Rich tropical fruit flavors with lychee, peach and mango, accompanied by a thick resiny flavor and wet hop character. The finish is very long, piny and dry. Great IPA; aggressively hopped, rich and well balanced.

Draft at Capone’s. Pours dark straw colored, but lighter than the Lakefront IPA. Nose is resiny hops, caramel malt, mild fruit. Tastes piney hoppy, tannic, with caramel malt and a resiny finish. This is my least fav of the SF varietal IPAs, and I felt that the Lakefront was a tad better. Still, this is very good.

[Draft @ Capones] Poured an amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, floral hops, caramel malts, citrus fruits, and a bit of grass. Taste of pine, citrus fruits, grass, caramel, toasted malts, and medium bitterness in the finish.

Draft @ Capone’s. Basically the classic look and feel of all SF IPA project beers. Citrusy floral aroma. Flavor has a nice fruity/floral thing that reminds one of being in an orange grove. Classic SF maltiness that I like with a nice feel and solid finish. Another really good IPA proj brew.

Tap @ Capones - orange hazy pour with white rocky head that clings to the glass. Aroma is gummy and piney but not over the top. Very fresh smelling. Flavor has good bitterness along the front and sides of the tongue. Good balance and Cluster seems to be a good single hop choice, though for my personal taste idlinemore hop flavor.
