Wow this is one tasty beer! I was shocked at first sip. Aroma was nice. Bread and roasted malt fill the nose. Pour was a nice dark brown with a one finger near tan head. Taste was just big and full. The bread and roasted malt were very big but not sweet. Just full. A little toast and caramel flavors come out in the aftertaste. Slightly toffee like as it warms. Nice carbonation. Great beer.

Canned. Poured clear, lighter amber with a short-lived off-white head.. decent color, but not enough of a cap. The aroma picked up sweet bready malts with a hint of cocoa with fresh earthy hoppage around.. light, complementary roast to it.. very solid example of the style. The flavor found bready and semi-sweet chocolate malts at the core, with prickly carbonation and cocoa bitterness around.. finished dry with some residual sugars and roast. Lighter-bodied and dry on the palate with a fine mouthfeel for a dunkel.. very, very drinkable.
