great traditional dunkel. fresh is the only way to have this. slighty creamy, banana-like, toasty flavor, mild hop bitterness along the sides of the tongue. classic dunkel lager.

Wow this is one tasty beer! I was shocked at first sip. Aroma was nice. Bread and roasted malt fill the nose. Pour was a nice dark brown with a one finger near tan head. Taste was just big and full. The bread and roasted malt were very big but not sweet. Just full. A little toast and caramel flavors come out in the aftertaste. Slightly toffee like as it warms. Nice carbonation. Great beer.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a clear copper color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty grainy caramel aroma with weak hoppy hints. Fruity crisp malty grainy flavor with hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty grainy caramel finish.

Canned. Crisp but rather malty flavor that holds a hint of hoppy bitterness. Deep flavor, somewhat nutty.

Canned. Poured clear, lighter amber with a short-lived off-white head.. decent color, but not enough of a cap. The aroma picked up sweet bready malts with a hint of cocoa with fresh earthy hoppage around.. light, complementary roast to it.. very solid example of the style. The flavor found bready and semi-sweet chocolate malts at the core, with prickly carbonation and cocoa bitterness around.. finished dry with some residual sugars and roast. Lighter-bodied and dry on the palate with a fine mouthfeel for a dunkel.. very, very drinkable.

12 oz can from Jonathan Ron Brielle. Poured a decent looking clear orange body with some clinging bubbles and a smaller foamy white head. Aroma is all malts at first and smells almost like a BMC but then with some warming notes of grape, raisin and glue. Thine bodied withn light carboantion and not much of an aftertaste. Flavor is almost nonexistant, a slight hint of malts and dry grassy hops. If it wasn’t for the decent color on this beer it could almost be a BMC.
