COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grisette is a Belgian style ale which was originally brewed in the Hainaut province to be the beer of the miners in the area, just as Saison was the beer of the farmers. It was lighter than Saison and frequently contained wheat as well as barley malt (as does the Sly Fox version). The name is derived from the French word for "gray," referring to both the drab factory frocks worn by the young women (the grisettes) who doled out pints as the men exited from the mines, and also the color of the cobblestone rock being mined.

355ml can @ Hoppy Loft.

Can shared at Christ’s post GBBF minidig 16/08/2014. Picked up at Cotteridge wine. Aroma is nice saison yeast, orange and wheat cereal. Hazed yellow/ straw coloured pour with a lasting white head. Flavour is crisp, straw, orange peel, nice saison yeast character. Palate is light palate, high chalky carbonation. Nice drinkable beer.

4 oz draft pour at ChurchKey. Hazy yellow with off-white head. Aromas of lemons, floral and grassy notes. Tastes of lemon, floral and grassy notes, subtle tartness. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Decent attempt but doesn’t really stand out for me.

Draft at Churchkey. Cloudy yellow color, white edge head. Aroma of herbal, dusty haystacks. Taste is herbal, spiced, peppery, earthy. Decent.

Six cans. Given the associations we have about Belgian beer here in the States, it seems strange to see it labeled as working class. Apparently, the style does have proletarian roots. Light straw color, spicy aroma, flimsy white head, but it leaves good lacing. Fairly standard Belgian blonde, with good amount of spicy flavor. Could pass for a saison, given the looseness of that style. No funk.

This poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. Aroma was earthy, cracked wheat, lemon Peel and.vanilla sweetness. Flavor was very well balanced, light tartness, wheat grain, some.marshmellow and yeast. Tasty stuff.

Poured from 12oz can. Not a bad beer, but not necessarily a good one either. Nothin remarkable in terms of flavor or appeal. Could be looked at a a nice option to the corporate light beers i suppose. --you've been Dubbed.

OMG delicious! Both my spouse and I loved it and can't wait to get more. Great balanced example of a Belgian wit.

A hazy but not quite opaque light piss yellow pour with moderate white lacing. Aroma is malt, hop, citrus, wheat. Taste is the same. Good flavor which isn’t too sweet; well balanced. Spice kicks in as well as it gets malty on the finish. Sticky on the back end. Sessionable beyond belief.

When I think of a hazy thirst quencher, this one is that should set the standard. It isn’t heavy or over the top - just full flavored and delicious. I like it.
