COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grisette is a a Belgian farmhouse ale which was originally brewed in the Hainaut Province to be the beer of the miners in the area, just as Saison was the beer of the farmers. It was lighter than saison and frequently contained wheat as well as barley malt (as does the Sly Fox version). The name is derived from the French word for grey, referring to the young women (the grisettes) who doled out pints as the men exited from the mines while still dressed in their grey factory frocks. The style is nearly extinct and will be an interesting addition to the adventuresome and ever-growing Sly Fox portfolio.

Good, earthy, slightly herbal and bready, but not overly spicy. Nicely pairs with lighter fare or salad.

Draft: Poured a hazy straw color with a nice amount of head. The aroma was grass, straw, citrus, spice, barley, and earth. The flavor was like a saison, citrus, grass, and spice. Overall, a really great tasting easy drinking beer.

tap, pours hazy bright yellow. Wheat and citrus nose. Nice wheat flavor with a touch of peppery spice in the finish, in the vein of a wit. Delicious.

Cloudy yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma of bread and lemon. Tastes of lemon, clove, bread, and spice. Very nicely done.

Tap at the Blind Tiger. Cloudy yellow pour with zero head though still some active carbonation in the mouth. Lemony, brett, cheese aroma, with a nice mushroomy earthiness. Minerally, spritzy, hard water flavor; dry but not bretty. Some dry/dead grass flavors. Not bad but not complex.

Tap @ Blind Tiger. Light hazy golden pour with white head. This is definitely more of a saison than anything else. Spices, citrus and slight chewy grassy notes.

Draft. Pours a hazy golden body with a white head. Dry musky with spices and earth tones. Grass and herbal with a hint of citrus and lemon. Decent.
