COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grisette is a Belgian style ale which was originally brewed in the Hainaut province to be the beer of the miners in the area, just as Saison was the beer of the farmers. It was lighter than Saison and frequently contained wheat as well as barley malt (as does the Sly Fox version). The name is derived from the French word for "gray," referring to both the drab factory frocks worn by the young women (the grisettes) who doled out pints as the men exited from the mines, and also the color of the cobblestone rock being mined.

Can pour..slightly hazy yellow golden hue..nose is really quite pleasant with very evident perfume presence..lemon..spice..mouthfeel is very refreshing..and fresh with a good prickly spice backbone..very nice saison style in a can at a lower abv..a few things are clear about this..nice for a canned saison..and another well crafted beer from sly fox..a cooler full of these in summer is definitely going to please..

Serving: 12 oz. can from State Line Liquors. It pours a hazy dark yellow with a nice white head. It has a spicy, floral nose with a bit of anise. Flavor is a bit wanting though. A dull shadow of the nose with an almost aspirin like bitterness. Light to medium body with a lingering finish. A little on the meh side and made me want to hit up a Dupont Saison.

Mild wheat aroma, pours a hazy light straw with a white head. The wheat flavor is there, a little less pronounced then in a wit beer. Light bodied, with a touch of lemon. Very easy drinking, with just a touch of bitterness in the finish.

Can at NHC> Pours a straw color, light haze and white head. Nose has a good ester phenol balance, low fruit and peppery notes. On tasting, crisp with a light body. Subtle pils malt and moderate balancing bitterness. Clean and refreshing. Nice stuff.

from a can nice foggy pour with a good fading head. lighter yeasty aroma. yes, beldgie yeast is prominent. stronger alky hit with a background of medium astringency. wew, that yeast is so there, almost smacking you in the face. I swear there are some alarmingly volatile fumes reaching my olfactory. finish is all this and a unique kick not had lately. not sure what to think but i’m not impressed.

Pours a cloudy light yellow color with a 3 finger white head that sticks around a while. Aromas of light banana, heavy clove and spice. Taste is simple - banana, clove, white pepper. Thin mouthfeel but very, very refreshing. Pretty good.
