2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 jeff789 (1206) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 16, 2011
clear golden with a light amber hue, no head, not lively... limited aroma, sweet malt mess, hoppiness has no crispness, sweetness overtakes the hop immediately, bland sweet pale malts, lightest grassy hops, sweetness really detracts from the body making it tough to drink...
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Glouglouburp (4558) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 3, 2011
In short: A clean full bodied blonde lager. Nice beer.
How: Tap at brewpub, Phoenixville location. One of the RBSG 2011 bus-trip pit-stop. Not sure why this is currently marked as retired with a dozen of rates in the past month???
The look: Clear golden blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: Typical low-hopped lager nose that pushes forward fresh cereals. Full round body with plenty of chewy cereals, a bit of caramel, a bit of honey, some citrus fruits, notes of iced tea. Not sure why this beer is currently flagged as retired, this beer was on tap June 2011. Both nourishing and refreshing. Everything worked in this beer and it had that lager freshness quality that I cannot put into words. We really don’t get enough good session lagers from small North-American micro-breweries. But I know that one day American micro-breweries will stop making all those sweet boozy ales and will start making more clean session lagers. And don’t tell me I live in a dream world otherwise I’m sending my horde of cyber-unicorns after you.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 dmac (2509) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - JUN 14, 2011
Draft at Phoenixville during RBSG. Poured a clear gold body with slight rising effervescence and a tight bubbly white head. Aroma was on the boring side with lots of grain and some green grapes and straw. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a slightly dry finish. Flavor is all grains and cereal and just boring. This beer was more forgetable then drinkable.

Yellow pour with light white head and lace. Aroma of light paper and light caramel malt. Flavor mirrors aroma with a very light earthy hop presence. A bit thin and fizzy but nice.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 GT2 (3440) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 6, 2011
Tap at Sly Fox for RBSG 2011. A beer back from the dead. Pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Small, white lace. Nose is similarly grenadine heavy like the maibock along with some oddities like Play-Doh. Taste is however not syrupy sweet and gains loads of sourdough, biscuit, fresh dough, earthy grain and welcome cereal bran. Nice.
