haukur (667), Reykjavik, Iceland Jul 22, 2008 tap at ginger man nyc. I dont know what it is about bocks, I never like them that much. This one here is very german though, very floral, not over excessive, reminds me a lot of Einbecker. Good but I´m finding the style a bit boring JoeMcPhee (3814), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jun 15, 2008 Tap at Ginger Man. Very pale straw colour. Creamy white head. The aroma is fresh and clean with little more than the base malt apparent. Light grainy flavour with a kiss of floral hops. It’s a bit cidery tasting too, which I don’t really enjoy. Pretty boring really... they can definitely do better. Goodgrief (1052), Middletown, Delaware, USA Aug 17, 2007 July 2005 - Reading the reviews above mine, I’m wondering if they poured the wrong beer into my sampler glass. Poured clearish yellow...certainly not the bronze/gold described above...looked and tasted similar to the Helles Lager. Seemed to be lacking the typical bock flavor. It was grassy/haylike in flavor. Good but definitely not great. jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jul 13, 2007 Helles Bock ‘06–on tap-pours a big foamy white head and pale yellow color. Aroma is faint sweet. Taste is faint sweet malt, grassy hops. Mild carbonation. JB175 (1356), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA May 17, 2007 2006 version on draft @ Phoenixville. Light golden color. Light, grainy aroma with some hints of apple. Grainy flavor, somewhat pils-ish. Crisp & clean with a nice hop bite. Nice Hellerbock!
