3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can from Appellation Wines. Good lagery nose - cooked vegetables, sweet cereal crops. tastes brings out some light lemon notes. Creamy palate, but a little too astringent on the finish for me. Good interpretation of the style though.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Can from Appellation Wines, Edinburgh
Golden, clear, no head (drunk from can)
Aroma of sweet pale light lager malt, sweet cereal
Taste as aroma, soft bit spicy lager hops. soft cereals, dull
Palate - Medium carb, medium light body, quite oily, fairly sweet palate. Finish as main flavour.
Overall - Better than a standard lager but was boring and dull for me

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml can from Appellation Wines. Pours golden with gentle bubbles and a decent head. The nose has gentle golden malt and a hint of citrus. The taste has more of the same. The palate has a light to medium body but in the case of the helles style what is more important is the balance and this is one that a Bavarian brewer would be proud of. The texture is creamy and the finish is clean but not too bitter. Overall, one of the best Helles outside Germany.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz novelty can from Giant Eagle on Route 8 in Pittsburgh. Borderline light beer with the accompanying lack of taste or body. Has its own refreshing qualities and the can is unique enough to warrant a try.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Best before August 19, 2013.
Appearance: The body is crystal clear with a golden hue, the head is decently sized with a white color and bready texture. There’s a huge mess on the glass here as the head dissipates.
Aroma: The aroma comes off spicy with a little lemon sweetness backed by mildly sweet malts.
Taste: Right away a bright spicy, florally and lemony hop presence hits providing a mild bitterness and a prominent flavor, malts appear quickly as well, balancing the hops into a dry finish.
Palate: Medium bodied, lively carbonation.
Overall: This is a nice refreshing beer, nothing stand out, but it drinks nicely and the new can design is great for outdoor activities.
