TAR (2008), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA Jul 19, 2004 Draft: Crystal clear greenish yellow. Fizzy, bright white head. Lovely mixture of ripe pilsner malt and pungent noble hops. Alluring hints of freshly buttered dough. Somewhat spritzy carbonation with a firm roundedness to the body. Elegant dollop of noble hops chase the frontal malt assault with lots of spicy bitterness. Subtlety complex notes of lagery minerals and juicy melon notes. Hops are lightly minty, as well, along with a touch of glazed malt sweetness. Finishes with loads of fluffy malt heft, yet with plenty of appetizing dryness to accentuate the peppery hop spice. Brian is a master of sucking every ounce of flavor from pilsner malt. Immensely complex in its subtleties. Stunning Helles. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA May 5, 2003 A rather sweet lager that perhaps isn't quite a dortmunder. Golden color with a fair amount of malt. Not much bitterness to speak of. NeroFiddled (105), Pennsylvania, USA May 23, 2002 An excellent interperetation of the Dortmund style with an impressive balance of malt and hop flavor! No flaws here. bbp182 (253), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2007 On tap at The Great American Pub and Diner. The appearance is...well...golden. Haha. Pours a nice white foamy head. It has a hoppy smell for a lager. The taste of hops is present. I think I taste some lemony sorta. Not a bad lager. Dickinsonbeer (2550), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Aug 14, 2005 Updated: Aug 6, 2006Wow this is a really really light colored lager. Nice pure white lasting head though. Aroma is grainy and bready with some light pils malt. A tough of floral and herbal hops as well. Flavor is also mostly malty with a slight bitter finish. Finish is relatively smooth and very clean. Perfect summer beer. Very close to the Munich Helles style.
