I like the smell - sugary, slightly spicy (anise), fresh mushroom. I like the pour - nice, big bubbled head that dies quickly.The color is beautifully golden in the clear pour. But the flavor is really fatiguingly sweet; sure, there is a bit of woodiness, and a touch of herbality, but is there coriander in here? Very yeasty and very sweet - not even fruit sweet, really, it’s more like cotton candy. Nice extra from hophead75.

rom / taste, yeasty, fruity (oranage / apple), some sweet sugar / honey and malty.
Found the beer to have a substantial amount of sugar and malts.

Oct 5, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Gillard. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of spicy yeast and alcohol. Taste has tons of sweet malt, spicy yeast, and a touch of alcohol. Medium full mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and slightly warm alcohol. Decent.

Sep 9, 2008 22 oz bottle shared at Lost Abbey release. Sweet and yeasty aromas that gave way to a nice spicy flavor that finished dry. A very good Tripel. I especially liked the nose on this one.

Sep 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear gold with a white head. Fruity, yeasty aroma with a bit of banana. Nice flavor of banana and yeast with some spices as well. Quite good.

Aug 9, 2008 Bottle sampled at NFB&WF ’08 at Martha Clara Vineyards. Pours a hazy yellow gold, more yellow than gold. Pleasant aroma of yeast, malt and sugar with a few vapors of alcohol as well. The flavor is nice with yeast, malt, candi sugar, and banana all well represented. A bit fizzy on the palate. The alcohol is noticeable, but is not a distraction. Good one.
