Slightly sweet aroma, with hints of spice. Pours clear light straw, with a giant white head. Mild flavor, hints of sweet candi sugar and a touch of spice. The alcohol is amazingly well hidden, with no heat that I could detect, this beer is easy drinking and very light on the palate. This is a decent beer, with no real flaws, I’m just not seeing anything to make it stand out.

A golden triple with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet candy sugar with herbal notes, with curacao notes. In mouth, a smooth sweet candi sugar, honey, curacao and warming alcohol.

75cl bottle. Pours a transparent dark golden colour with small white head. Cereals, caramel, and hints of white grape on the nose. Sugary taste, wheat, malts, and spiciness emanating from the bubbles in the back. Alcohol presence, not surprising considering it’s 10.3% ABV. Light body, under-carbonated. Honestly, that’s incredibly far from being a great Tripel. I expected more from this.

750 ml bottle purchased @ Phoenixville, PA. Brewpub location. The aroma is candid sugar, Belgian yeast, caramel, citrus and light clove. The flavor is slightly tangy with notes of clove, pears and candi sugar. Notes of honey or honey suckle flowers. Texture is sugary with a medium / full yeasty body. Alcohol presence but pretty well hidden considering the big 10.3 %. Overall this is a really nice Triple. And if you are outside of Philadelphia, well worth the trip to the brew pub. Recommended if you like this style.

This was a solid beer that I should have drunk a long time ago. Finally it leapt out of the cellar into my hands as I was looking to restock the on deck fridge. The result is a decent tripel that has potential for improvement amid flashes of brilliance.

Aroma / Appearance - The carbonated coppery body is slippery as it moves around the glass. The dirty head looks like someone crumbled up old newspaper stock that had been sunbleached into little flakes. Apples, cotton candy, pears, and yeast drive a nose which is on target for the style.

Flavor / Palate - The heavy booziness is the main drawback of an otherwise decent beer. Chewy and dense the mouthfeel is a mixture of caramel, apple crisp, and malt. Yeast carries into the sweet finish. Sly Fox has some fine beers but I don’t think this is their best work.

750ml bottle generously shared by Anndiesel. Orange-tan with a smidge of haze, big foamy white head and steady active CO2 floating to the surface. True to style mouthfeel, effervescent and with big alcohol laced candi sugar and clove notes. A touch overwhelming, this is sort of brutal at times. A good beer, just too alcohol forward. They really nail it with the mouthfeel and aroma, but just lacks and subtlety or grace. Drinkable, but not one I’d seek out again.

Hazy amber beer, frothy white head. Light honey orange on the nose. Softish palate that is also pretty dry. Moderate carbonation. Spicy dry malt, well integrated with sweet honey orange. Finishes soft, dry and sweet with a hint of spice in the aftertaste. Hangs together quite well.

Had this one cellared for a while. Golden body with frothy suds. Aroma is caramel malt. Taste is a bit sweeter than a typical Belgium Tripel. Smooth o the palate and great on this warm Memorial Day day.

750ml bottle. Pours a mostly clear golden hue with a large white head. A rich phenolic nose with light sweet candy. The flavor is a nice smooth fruity Triple with loads of bananas, some clove and spices, mellow. Not too sweet or over the top as some tripels are. Good.
