Deep mahogany body with a flush, nitrogenated head. Candi malt nose, but with a body that is rather off, tasting of west shoe, ash, and cigarette butts. Not sure where this one went wrong.

Dark brown body with medium sized tan head, spotty lacing. Mellow chocolate and roasted malts. Just a touch of coffee. Medium bodied, creamy carbonation on cask, mild bitterness in the finish.

From a cask at Dandelion in Philly. Pours dark brown with a light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt and some coffee. The flavor has that and a hint of coffee. Very smooth and easy drinking.

[Cask @ Phoenixville] Dark brown mahogany color with a small, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of nuts, caramel, roast, cocoa, and burnt toast. Taste was sweeter chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, and a toasty finish.

Hand Pump at the Phoenixville BrewPub: Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, light hops, and barley. Poured very deep amber/brown in color with a large, loose, brown/tan head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Not sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of roasted malt, light chocolate, slight fruit, and barley. Medium body. Slick, then dry texture. Hand-pump carbonation. Roasted malt, chocolate, and barley finish is dry.
